you gotta get that dirt off your shoulderPosted on Thu, December 23rd, 2004 @ 12:32 am
Heys, long time no post eh. :P Well the term break is over for me so it’s back to long days of classes and long nights of assignments. Not to mention my obligation to the Yearbook which includes weekly meetings and the team of journalists that are under my care and supposed guidance. Heh. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Haha right. But still, I guess it’s good to be back here at Cyberjaya.. I’ve missed my MMU friends, especially my housemates. Aww.
Upon returning, I got to stock up on some new mp3’s, all thanks to Edison. Man, I’ve been getting songs from this guy since before we were living under the same roof (which was back in May). :) It helps that we have just about the same taste when it comes to music! So if you notice, there’s 2 new additions to the Music Of The Moment section. Yayy. The Eminem song is superly duperly recommended - nice hook and the lyrics is so touching, in his own twisted way. Hehe. And the other song comes from the collaboration album Linkin Park And Jay-Z did - Collision Course. Ed sent me the entire album, 6 songs in total and it’s all in continuation actually… Numb/Encore is probably the standout track and I figured everyone would have the song by now. So I’m sharing with you, Jigga What/Faint, which is my second favourite out of Collision Course. And the other night we were watching the recording of the mini concert - Linkin Park vs Jay-Z - and the raw energy of their performances were really something to behold. :D It’s just very cool. Who would’ve thought these 2 artistes would sound so great together.. hehe.
Yesterday I went for an all-girls outing and had so much fun doing what girls are best at.. shopping!! It’s been so long since I’ve gone out in a group where there wasn’t even a single guy present… kinda refreshing. ;) The 6 of us totally terrorized Putrajaya’s Alamanda (the closest mall available to us), woot! In spite of the full days I’ve been having this week, I’m still finding it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Argh. Picture it - 4 AM and I’d still be wide awake, with a 9 AM class ahead waiting for me. And when I do finally doze off, I get the strangest dreams. I don’t even wanna guess what my subconscious is trying to tell me, heh.
Ahem, ladies and gentlemen, your attention please. After 20 years of never knowing how to swim, I finally took the plunge (haha), into the chlorinated waters of the condo pool. With 3 swimming buddies with me and each sharing their own tips, I’ve managed to swim a little distance.. underwater.. yeah.. hehe. Now I need to practise poking my head up for air at the correct intervals, then I should be all set. It sounds silly but I used to be afraid of submerging my head in the water, so it feels good to have overcome that phobia of mine. :P
And to end this entry, here’s a little something for all of you who have been visiting and commenting - thanks so much. :)

then i hope you’ll see the heart in mePosted on Fri, December 17th, 2004 @ 7:29 pm
All rights, uploaded a new song for ‘Music Of The Moment’, over to your left there. ;) Jesse McCartney sings good candypop radio-friendly songs, especially this particular one. Even the title - Beautiful Soul - sounds nice, no? He looks like a cross between Aaron Carter and Alex Band (lead singer of The Calling)… I’ll leave it to you to decide if that’s a good thing or bad, hehe. Oh, and he’s 17. Hmm I’ll stick with 26-year-old Adam Levine of Maroon 5 then. Yummy. :)
Caught the movie Ocean’s Twelve a few days ago. Good stuff! I like the wit and artistic touches. I didn’t swoon at Brad Pitt for 2 hours though. I mean yeah, he’s a good-looking man and all, but I just don’t find him attractive. I preferred looking at George Clooney, at least he was funny. :D If you’re planning on watching this, I’d say go for it. And try not to space out at anytime during the movie, you just might miss something - the intricate movie plot made my head spin. After the show, you could see people discussing the storyline and explaining it to their friends with the blur faces. Hehe.
And this is a silly and fun quick quiz that everyone should take, haha. :)

2004Posted on Fri, December 17th, 2004 @ 4:36 pm
Dear Santa,
You won’t be getting any wishlists from me this time around. I’m just glad to survive this year… fuckups and all. (Plus I really haven’t been a good little girl anyway.)
But if you have the time, there’s a sweet kid who’s in the hospital who would probably love to spend her Christmas at home, where she belongs. She’s 13, and she’d greet me with a shy smile the few times I dropped by her house. I don’t know her that well - she’s the younger sister of someone I used to call a friend. Well even though I no longer talk to her older sister, and don’t really wish to, it would be great if their entire family could be together at a time like this, and have a merry Christmas. Sadness makes a bad decoration piece for anyone.
What it meant to me / will eventually be a memory / of a time when I tried so hard / and got so far / but in the end / it doesn’t even matter
I guess December has always been a good time to reflect and evaluate on everything that’s taken place this year. I’d write a summary or something, but then I figured some things are better left untold. All I can say is, 2004 has been one hard lesson learnt. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but the mistakes taught me to be smarter next time.
No regrets. Life’s too short for them. :)

Oh geez. 7 days more and then my break will be over. Too fast, too fast. I’ll have to make the best out of the time I have left… Need to stuff myself with some good food before I return to university where there’s barely anything edible available around the area. Pfft. I’m always skinnier whenever I’m in MMU. So hey, if any of you want to lose weight or something, come on over to Cyberjaya. The eating experience here is equivalent to a diet program. Or at least it is that way to me. Eeks.
Exciting news. I’m 95% certain of getting a new computer, yayy. Just in time for Christmas too. :) The family computer at home is about ready to go ka-poot, so the plan is to donate my current PC to my family, and I’ll get a new one. My dad suggested Dell, coz their prices are really competitive these days… but I’m not sure. We’ve only been looking at the pre-packaged sets, but I could see that there are some things I won’t be needing, and some that I do aren’t included. So I guess it’d make more sense to buy the peripherals and all according to the specifications that I want… and maybe get someone to assemble everything together for me. We’ll see. Still in the midst of discussing with the funds provider a.k.a. my dad. ;)
Apart from that all I want for Christmas - is snow! Yesh, right here in Malaysia. Like, just for one day. That’s not too much to ask for, is it? Hehe.

My youngest sister picked up Johnson’s Wild Orange Wave wash, and I couldn’t resist getting the Watermelon Wipeout for myself. ;) Man it smells good! I love the scent of watermelon, it’s so yummy. Yeah I realize I’m already 20 and all that.. But I’m still a Johnson’s Kid. :) Good stuff is good, no matter what. Hehe.

revival yet againPosted on Fri, December 10th, 2004 @ 1:15 am
Yay, Storm is back up. :) And hopefully it’ll stay up this time around, huh? Hehe. The site’s been disappearing or closed for maintenance a few times already… too much excitement there. A little peace would be good for now.
I’m using WordPress to blog instead of b2 now, coz it’s better at tackling comment spams… b2 was practically defenseless and I was getting 100+ comments from spambots per day! Imagine trying to delete them all every day.. what a nightmare. WordPress was a tough one to install though, or maybe I just had it easy with b2’s smooth installation before this. Haha. Much thanks goes to J for his help each time I got stuck - he’s a WordPress genius, yesh yesh. Well more so than I am anyway. :P Oh, and J’s the one taking over Ravishing from Mellissa, so he’s effectively my host now.. Poor me, having to endure his sadistic and evil ways. How cool, I’m sure he’s easy to get along with. Erm yeah. :P
On to other things. I guess the page looks kinda blank right now with just this one entry, coz I’ve yet to import the b2 archives in here.. Someday I’ll get around to doing it. ;) Laziness, hehe. But it’s pretty cool anyway, it feels like I’m starting over and writing my very first post. Ooh ooh ooh, please take notice of a new feature to your left there - Music Of The Moment. Hope you all like it, I’ll be uploading a different song from time to time to share with everyone. :) Hmm I forgot to ask whether I’m allowed to upload mp3’s though.. haha oh well. Go ahead and download while you still can? Hehe.
Subang >> Taman Melawati >> Sentul
That was last night’s journey when I followed G and Newbie out for supper. Whew. I think we were in the car for about an hour, at least? The stop at Melawati was to pick up G and Newbie’s friend Oswald, and from there Oswald directed us to an eating spot in Sentul. It was called Naili’s Place.. and wow, it was set up like some tropical beachside resort, very quaint and cool. And it was my first time eating ikan bakar at 2 in the morning.. It’s coz the place is open till pretty late, like 3 AM.. So the 4 of us had a nice long chat there. And yeah, we took pictures using G’s phone. :) But it was dark so most of them turned out blurry and distorted and out of focus.. sorta like ghost pictures even. LoL Wanna see them anyway?
Omg we all looked like goofballs. Ahaha. But it was fun~
