hottt stuffPosted on Sat, January 29th, 2005 @ 10:56 pm
Aw, I’ve missed bowling! I can’t remember when was the last time I did it, but yeah, I rediscovered the joys of bowling last night at Sunway Pyramid’s bowling alley with Maxine, Terence, Garick, and Bernard. It was fun knocking down pins and also cleaning the gutter there.. :P Yesh I rolled plenty of gutter balls but I did manage to score above 100 points for the first game, so yay. :) The rest of the gang were on fire though, the strikes and spares kept coming in! When’s the next bowling outing, guys?! Hehe.
I think I’m getting worse at updating this blog by the day.. well, it’s been a hectic week for me. No thanks to sleep-stealing assignments, pfft. I’m glad submission’s over for now, and that weekend’s here and I get to go home to Subang, which is where I am now. Woots. Cyberjaya is getting TOO HOT these days, it’s crazy. The haze there isn’t helping either.. lotsa open burning going on and no one’s doing anything to stop it. Oh help. People are falling sick left and right, probably due to the merciless weather, so everyone do take extra care and drink plenty of H2O. :)
The Chinese New Year holidays are just around the corner and that’s when my midterm break will be too.. can’t wait!!

it’s been said…Posted on Fri, January 21st, 2005 @ 12:50 am
Well apparently research has shown that a person cannot die from lack of sleep. I’ll take it as good news… :P
I think it needs to be said that I have the stoopidest, goofiest bunch of friends here at uni, most of which consists of my housemates. But I do love ‘em anyway, for making life at MMU that much more interesting. Hehe.
Example A: Ed made me install Skype and buy a microphone as well, just so we can chat through internet phoning. The silly part is, he’s my housemate and I could always just go up the stairs to find him if I wanted to talk to him. D’oh.
Example B: Seen and Jimmy made a bet on when I’d start smoking, just coz practically everyone else is already on their merry puffing way.. haha. Jimmy said, “In 2 months’ time.” Seen’s guess was when we’re all back from internship, which would be sometime in October I think? All I could do was roll my eyes and laugh at them.
Example C: Going shopping with them to Sungai Wang yesterday, the 4 of them (Ed, Seen, Jimmy, LP) somehow managed to get me to splurge RM89 on a pair of sneakers. Oh gosh. When my parents find out about this, I’m so gonna be banned from anymore shoe buying for this year. LoL But I have to say, I do like my new shoes a lot anyhow… :)

Goodbye RM89!
I’m going to upload some new songs tomorrow, it’s been awhile since I’ve updated the music section. Whee.
[edit:] Uploaded 3 new tunes. And this quiz below is pretty damn accurate, hrmm. Plus the particular Blink 182 song has always held a deep meaning for me. :)
I Miss You by Blink 182 |

“The unsuspecting victim
Of darkness in the valley
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want to
Where you can always find me”
You grew up a lot in 2004. And it was mostly a very good thing.

saturday night and et ceteraPosted on Mon, January 17th, 2005 @ 2:47 am
Okay this is gonna be a quick one coz my head is spinning and the bed is calling for me. Just wanna say that Saturday night was a blast, celebrating the birthday of De Hao aka DHao at Thai Club. :) I met DHao through the notorious Mamak Gang, and it’s gonna be a sad day when he flies off to Brisbane again next month, booo. Thanks for the invite and spending for the whole group of us, DHao! Though there were a few weird unwanted things that happened - hope you and your sweetie Carina had as much fun as we did and to recover soon from this crazy weekend. :P For a recap and lotsa pictures, click on over to Becky’s. Whee.
Well tomorrow’s the start of another week.. can’t say I’m looking forward to it. Too many assignments that I’ve yet to get started on, and too many uninspiring classes to attend. Can I just say that Moral And Ethics class is pointless and a waste of time? It doesn’t help that we’re being taught by a Muslim man who must have had a sad childhood or something. He seems mild and pleasant enough, until he opens his mouth. Like, there was this time when a group was up for presentation on the topic of abortion.. The group consisted of Chinese girls, and our lecturer was saying, “Okay, these girls are going to talk about abortion. From experience, because they’ve all done it before.” Funny joke? I don’t think so. Pfft. I was annoyed to the point where I was ranting to my housemate, Seen, who was sitting next to me. Seen actually came for a 9AM class for once, and he was hyper from not getting any sleep the night before. So the both of us were yakking and gossipping till the 3-hour class of Moral And Ethics was over. I think I wouldn’t have survived the class otherwise. Ahh, I’m such a good student, I know. :P
It’s been a long week with some sleepless nights in between. So I’m gonna call it a night now. *yawns* Hope everyone has a good week ahead. :)

something newPosted on Fri, January 14th, 2005 @ 2:58 am
Hehe see? Toldja Maroon 5 would be making an exit soon… And in comes Miss Avril Lavigne. :) Love her or hate her… I think she’s one of the more outstanding names in the pop music scene these days. Plus I just like this picture of her that I found.
So there was a huge blackout today, which affected like half the country, I think? Where were YOU when it happened? ;) I was still sleeping… but I woke up when the fan stopped spinning, coz it was noontime and the heat really got to me. Thank goodness the power came back after a few hours… wouldn’t have liked to experience living in the ‘dark ages’ for even one whole day. ‘Course, the lack of electricity made me and my housemates realize just how much we rely on our computers for amusement all the time. Tsk tsk. With that taken away, we were left wandering around aimlessly like lost people. Haha no kidding. :P So funny.
Been preoccupied with stuff, and some are really stressing me out. Blahs. I guess this is one of those times when I’m very grateful for my housemates, coz they’re always willing to listen to me sigh and whine and moan and just.. collapse emotionally. Things which I’d usually not do with any other friends, honestly. But this bunch of people are an exception - people who’ve stayed with me under one same roof for close to a year now.. people who I interact with day in and day out, who have seen me at my worst and my best, and they’re still sticking around.. Well, that kinda explains it, huh? :P There’s nothing better in the world than to have a place to go to when you need one. Aye. Here’s to good friends~ :)

as alive as a dead personPosted on Sun, January 9th, 2005 @ 5:10 pm
I chalked up a total of 16 hours of sleep on Friday night… congratulate me? Haha geez. It’s all thanks to Thursday night’s out at Rush, to celebrate the birthday of a classmate by the name of Ang Choon Lock who turned 21 that day. Woots! 40 people showed up for his party, and most of them were MMU faces. I even saw my ex-housemate from Engineering.. he came invited by another friend from the same crowd, haha. I’m not a huge fan of Rush, as far as clubbing places go, but it was the company and the occasion that mattered, right? Coolness. :)
What wasn’t so cool was the fact that I got back at 4.30 AM.. though not in the least bit drunk, thank goodness. I went to bed right after that, coz I knew I had to be up again by 7.30 AM. Yes, 7.30. Just coz I had a group presentation at 9 AM for Moral And Ethics class.. and I was one of the speakers for my group, dammit. I have no idea how I lasted the 3-hour class but I’m grateful that I did.. You could see that none of the people who were at Rush last night had turned up for class the next morning, except for me and my groupmates. Argh. ;) So no surprise that I crashed right after dinner on Friday at 8 PM, and didn’t wake up till 12 noon the next day. 16 hours. It’s incredible! I was as alive as a dead person for two-thirds of a day… I think I scared my family at least a little. :P Not gonna try it again - well at least not in the near future.
Umm. Got nothing else much that I feel like talking about.. But ooh, I guess you can expect a new layout here soon? Hehe. Yeah, it’s about time, huh. I haven’t started on anything yet but I’ve got the entire design mapped out in my head. So… Be prepared to say goodbye to Maroon 5 soon. Hehe.

it’s an update!Posted on Tue, January 4th, 2005 @ 2:55 am
Haha okay, so I’m finally blogging again… What can I say? Been busy and/or lazy to write here. And most of the time it’s laziness, tsk tsk. :P
It’s that time again where we say hello to a brand new year. Time sure flies sometimes. But I dunno, 2005 is just another set of numbers to me.. I doubt I’d be thinking up any resolutions or whatever. I guess I just prefer to set goals when needed, not for the sake of it being a new year trend. Hehe. My new year’s eve was pretty good.. kinda subdued but it felt appropriate since the Tsunami tragedy is still hovering over our heads. :( It’s getting painful to read and watch the news.. *covers eyes*
Apart from getting to meet up with Becky, Yeeng, and Bernard, I also managed to bump into some old primary school mates on new year’s eve - who happened to be Becky’s ex-high school friends - at the barbecue party her friend was throwing. What a small world. :) Wei Keat and Hock Beng.. ahh they were both in my class back in Standard 5. It felt surreal as we recalled those days we left behind.. they seemed to remember a whole lot more than I did, that’s for sure. Or maybe it’s just my memory that’s bad, hehe.
December had been a month filled with new faces.. and lotsa mamak outings at all kinds of time in the night. Yes, I’m talking about you, Mamak Gang. Heh heh. The usual suspects included Bernard, Becky, Terence, and Ivan.. plus various others who would show up now and then. :) It’s fun getting to know all of ya. Yay. :)
Well university life has resumed to full speed… I’m learning PHP in two of my classes, it’s basically a new and foreign language to me, so it’s gonna take a while to grasp it. Slow and steady, eh. The people here are still the same crazy bunch… which means I know where to go whenever I need some amusement. :P The other day we were having lunch, and Jimmy was saying how he needed to save money to get a new car. Raphael and I were throwing out suggetions on how he could do that. “Cut down on clubbing.” “Cut down on smoking.” That sort of stuff. But when Raphael said, “Cut down on chasing girls”, Jimmy’s response was instantaneous: “NO WAY.” Haha, it got the entire table laughing. How typical.. Guys will be guys, I guess. ;)
Speaking of Jimmy and laughing.. yeah, I did laugh when he told me this idea of us both getting tattoos when we’ve turned 21, the age of complete freedom. It was hilarious just because I don’t even have pierced ears right now! I have a low tolerance for pain.. :P But when he asked again, the idea didn’t sound as crazy anymore.. hmm. My birthday’s still a few months away, and hey, anything can happen by then. Who knows. :) But it’ll definitely not be a spur-of-the-moment thing… not when it’s something as permanent as a tattoo. If it was done spontaneously, I’d probably end up with a tattoo that says “1+1=7″ or something just as nonsensical. Haha no kidding.
Oh yeah, new songs uploaded.. Linkin Park+Jay-Z.. you know you love ‘em together. :D And Sheila On 7’s Berhenti Berharap.. though I don’t listen to Malay music much but this Indonesian band is so worth its hype. Sigh. :)
