in the mood to ramblePosted on Thu, April 28th, 2005 @ 10:50 pm
As of late, I’ve been getting invites from friends for all sorts of things. From watching a WarCraft DotA competition held at someone’s college (can’t remember which though), to attending a LEO Club charity dinner event, and even partying at a lesbians gathering bash. YEAH. :P
I’m usually up for anything new, but I didn’t go for any of the outings above… The first one was coz I was busy with other stuff that day. Couldn’t make it for the second one due to tight cash situation (I’m not flat broke yet but I’m almost there.. grr). And the last one? Haha well, I guess I’m just not used to an all-girls partying environment. It’s just not as fun without any guys around! ;) Plus I’d probably spend the entire night having to explain to whoever I meet that I’m purely straight. Imagine how tiring that would get, haha. But the party event is organized by a straight friend of mine and another non-straight friend of hers, who are both really nice people so I hope it’ll be a successful night for them. :)
Congratulate me coz I’ve been staying indoors for this entire week.. oh, except for Monday when I got to meet up with Edison. :D Okay so it’s not Edison Chen, it was my ex-housemate Edison Sow. LoL I had some delicious Klang bak kut teh with him, Eng Seen, and Lee Chuan on that rainy Monday afternoon. Jimmy couldn’t make it coz he’s started his internship and is now a working man for the next 3 months. Good luck to him! Anyways it was good to see these MMU people again after a week of not meeting up. Aww. :)
So I’ve watched the movie Moving Targets… and holy crap, why didn’t anyone tell me that Edison Chen DIES in the movie?! I was so not expecting that and I got traumatized after watching the ending. Eesh. >:P Traumatized! This was worse than Edison’s other movie Jiang Hu.. In there his character had to perform *ahem* unnatural things to a dog and it was a very graphic scene. I actually respected him more as an actor after Jiang Hu. And at least he managed to stay alive throughout that entire particular movie. Hmph yeah.

slowing downPosted on Mon, April 25th, 2005 @ 2:58 am
Since I found myself at the cinema 3 times this past week (wheee)… I’m gonna give you some quick thoughts on the movies I saw. :)
The Pacifier: Vin Diesel has a go at comedy and it’s actually a pretty good movie.. It won’t have you rolling on the floor laughing or anything, but there are quite a few funny moments. And if nothing else, you can just sit and oogle at Vin Diesel’s superb body for an hour and a half. :P
The Jacket: This is one thriller drama that takes its time to unfold, and it may test your patience… But if you’re looking for something different from the norm, this fits the bill perfectly. I think Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley did well as the lead actors. And the twist of the movie is, that it doesn’t have a twist. Haha. ;)
Coach Carter: Samuel L. Jackson plays the title character, and this is my favourite movie out of the 3. Very inspirational and touching… It’ll make a basketball fan out of you if you aren’t one already.
I’ve been in and out quite a lot recently, so I guess it’s about time I slow it down a bit.. I feel like just being a homebody for the coming week, rediscover the joys of chilling at home and all that. In fact tonight I visited a place I haven’t stepped into for months now - the vcd rental store - and I’m now loaded with 2 Chinese movies, which are Spy Dad and Moving Targets. :D Yayy. It’s not by coincidence that Edison Chen acts in both of these movies..
Yeah you could say I’m rediscovering the joys of Edison Chen as well. Lots of people have celebrity crushes, and I’ll say it loud and proud that this is mine. :) He’s nice to look at (smirks are sexy), he has some catchy songs, and I have a thing for hip hop boys.. so yeah. Heck, on some days you’d even catch me gushing like a schoolgirl about him. It’s a whole lot of superficial fun. I’m a total believer in the concept of temporary distractions, and basically he does the job. ;)
Oh, and I had the idea of getting a domain, but that was a few weeks ago and right now I’m not so sure if I want to go through with it. Maybe I need a break from the online world… I’m losing interest as it is. And there was this one domain name that I was thinking of getting but when I did a check, the .com extension was already taken - by some German boyband website, in fact. LoL
“Wird höchstwahrscheinlich ewig fett, also schmeißts euch vorbei!” (An excerpt from the site content)
That’s German, right? Haha so anyways, I don’t think I’d like my domain to be associated with boybands of any sort. But I wish them all the luck in the ruthless music industry. :P Hehe.

recap for last weekPosted on Wed, April 20th, 2005 @ 2:19 am
Hellooo everyone. Okie since I did not die from alcohol poisoning (hah!), I’m now going to attempt to write about the week I had, coz it’s definitely something I don’t go through often. :P
Monday
After sitting for the final exam paper for the semester - Media Law - and getting it over with, the bunch of us celebrated our freedom with dinner and pool and foosball at Club 7. Reached back at Cyberjaya at 1-something in the morning… A few of us (me, Lee Chuan, Eng Seen, Xiao Yun, and Ah Lock) decided it was still early, and so guess what we did? We took a merry drive to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) via some creepy dark back road to escape from paying the toll *tsk tsk.. haha*, and had supper at Burger King, the only eating place there that was open 24 hours a day. I haven’t done the whole late night hanging out at KLIA and eating Burger King thing in ages, so it was really nice. I love being at airports, even when I don’t hold a ticket in my hand and I know I’m not going anywhere. It’s just fun to walk around and take in the sights. :)
Tuesday
Didn’t do much during the day… Met up with LiEw for dinner at Friday’s and we got free dessert. Woots! Later on, I went for yamcha with my housemates and some other classmates.. The guys bought some beer and stout home, and we were lounging at the condominium poolside having a drinking and storytelling session. We called it a night at 6 AM which was a good thing coz the mosquitoes were eating us alive.
Wednesday
A night out to the city for some clubbing with Edison, Eng Seen, Lee Chuan, Lip Yong, Jimmy and his girlfriend Jia Jia. :) We went to Rum Jungle.. and my friends surprised me with some birthday watermelon dessert thingy that was ordered at the club. There were even candles stuck on it, thanks to Seen who ran all the way to Coffee Bean till he found some. We opened a bottle of Chivas and a bottle of Bacardi. Since I was the birthday girl, I naturally had to drink a lot and got drunk the worst.. :P Argh. I couldn’t walk on my own by the end of the night. Luckily everyone took good care of me, especially Jia Jia and Lee Chuan - thanks guys!! Oh, I was hiccuping when I was being carried back to our place, it was so funny coz I really did look like a typical drunkard then, haha. I got teased for days after that - “hic.. hic.. hic.” Hrmph. But it was fun. Good friends = good time.
Thursday
On the actual day of my birthday, I was happy to stay inside most of the time. Recovering from the hangover took quite a while. Eng Seen, Edison, and Lee Chuan had another drinking session that night at our living room. I got forced to take one sip… geeeez. They also presented me with the Bacardi bottle from the previous night at Rum Jungle.. They took out a marker pen and each scribbled a message on the bottle for me. What a cool birthday souvenir huh? ;)
Friday
The afternoon was spent with Jeen, Joyce, and Suh Li at Alamanda Putrajaya. Lunched at The Coast and had dessert at Secret Recipe. Joy joy. It was nice getting to celebrate birthdays (Suh Li was an April baby too, yayy) with girlfriends! :) Nighttime came and I had all intentions to sleep early, but ended up going to The Loft, which was apparently the hottest new nightspot around. I got dragged into it, so did Eng Seen.. It was all Lee Chuan’s doing. Bleks. :P And I’d just gotten over my drunken episode..! I didn’t drink much at all, but I liked the place. If only it wasn’t packed to maximum capacity though. *struggles to breathe* The group there was mostly our seniors who were celebrating the end of their very last semester ever at MMU. It was ironic to think that I’d only started getting to know my seniors on their last day… and I dunno just how good they are at their design work, but they’re definitely talented at consuming liquor nonstop. These people can really drink! Hmm it made me wonder if our batch could ever match them on that aspect… Umm, not that I would even want to try to. Hehe.
Saturday
Another clubbing night… this time it was at Rush. The occasion was Dan’s birthday celebration… A lot of people got wasted good. But not the birthday boy. What a scandal.. eesh. And a fight broke out at the club.. There was blood and all, I think. Madness. Clubbing 3 times a week was enough. No point overkilling it. Plus I missed sleeping before 6 AM. x)
Sunday
Went to Teluk Gong for a big seafood dinner with the beloved notorious Mamak Gang. :) Everyone went home fat and full that night.. I hope. :P The Mamak Gang got me a birthday cake and I blew out imaginary candles. *winks* They also gave me a HUGE, huggable, lovable Mashimaro soft toy for my present… not to mention a prettyful bracelet from Becky, Maxine, and Yeeng (the super trio of tickle-me.net). Thanks so much, you all. This is one birthday that I won’t soon forget. :D
Throughout the week I didn’t bring my camera out much so there aren’t many photos to show. Hmm. I’ll go gather pictures from the others who snapped photos with their camera/phone soon enough. In the meantime I’ve filled up some free time by creating picture montages from the photos that I did take - CLICK HERE TO VIEW. :)

gonna party like it’s your birthdayPosted on Thu, April 14th, 2005 @ 6:56 am
At approximately 2.15 AM just now, I died and went to Chivas + Bacardi heaven at Rum Jungle. I remembered thinking that I never wanted to touch alcohol ever again. Yes it was THAT bad. What a way to start off being 21 years old. Blehs. :P
More details to come - later. For now..
Zzzzzz…
