slacker-ism
Posted on Mon, May 30th, 2005 @ 2:58 pm

Hello. Today I would like to talk about the slacker culture, as I think it is something that each one of us has come across at some point in our life. For a few slacker superstars, it might be at virtually every point in their life. :D *respects*

Well as I’m sitting here in the office with lotsa work to do and zero motivation to touch any of it just yet, I thought it was time to come up with a Slackers Guide, should you wish to join the undeniably growing mass and embrace slacker-ism.

10 Steps To Being A Slacker
1. Show as little enthusiasm towards your work as possible.
2. Don’t do today what you can put off till tomorrow.
3. Have 6 different windows open on your computer. May or may not be related to the work you’re supposed to be doing. Preferably not.
4. Okay getting lazy here. Figure out the rest of it yourself, BYE! *slacks off*

(And take a look at The Official Save The Slacker anti-campaign! (It’s funny, do visit!) Also, a movie called Slacker. Which is all about slackers, of course. :P)

just for phunk

(This entry is mostly for my own personal note.)

A few things to be grateful for:

- good friends; coz if all else fails you, they’ll still be around.

- DiGi’s Friends & Family mobile phone rates; 1cent per sms and 15cents per minute for a call yo!!

- conversations about sinking boats and switching bodies; which can be really meaningful if you think about it… or maybe not. :P

- pancakes; even when there’s no bananas in them. *winks*

That be all for now!

P.S. I forgot… I’m also superly thankful for the existence of Edison Chen Guan Xi in this world, so that I may practise my squealing fangirl skills, and to laugh at him when he sings stuff like “booty slap” and “hell no, let’s go!”.

P.P.S. To the LUCKY fella who returned from Dragon Bar and managed to escape from taking the breather test after being stopped for questioning at a police road block.. on Wesak Day, no less… hope you pray more from now on, eh. =D

what the phunk is wrong with that?

It seems like so many people are falling sick these days… and I’ve just joined the club too! I’m down with headache, sore throat, and a fever. Yay. :( *pops Panadol and lots of lozenges*

Well, serves me right for going swimming under a 4pm afternoon sun. :P Heh.

Anyway I’m hoping for a speedy recovery. Sickness doesn’t sit well with me. I can’t do anything except to sleep early.. and how much fun is that, right? ;)

By the way, Black Eyed Peas’ new song is COOL. I’m just wondering why the title’s been changed from the original ‘Don’t Phunk With My Heart’ to ‘Don’t Mess With My Heart’? Does ‘phunk’ sound too obscene or what? LoL Hmmm..

this is as fantastic as it gets

Okay. So I discover that the place I’m interning at is rarely quiet - someone or other is always broadcasting their collection of mp3’s to the entire (non-big) office. Yesterday was trance music (!), today it’s Westlife and BSB and lotsa other cheesy love ballads.

Eat that, Hitz.fm. ;)

Other reasons why this particular company rocks:
-mini karaoke session where you will see employees singing along to the music as they work
-teatime of rojak and ais kacang at the nearby stall together
-DotA (WarCraft) games played at the office at night (10pm till whenever!), which the boss himself joins in

Oh, and I get to stare at Photoshop and Flash the whole day, 5 days a week. Which I really don’t mind. There’s a whole long list of things to do that are worse than website designing, so I have nothing to complain about basically.

I’m a happyamused dancingskipping munchkin these days. Yep. :)

P.S. Happy Friday the 13th to everyone!

First day of internship today!

It was a little daunting at first but the office environment was pretty relaxed and casual.. And lunch time is flexible.. And it’s a requirement for everyone to have Yahoo Messenger on their computer for easy communication.. And my boss blasts Jay Chou mp3’s on his speakers. Haha serious!

So I think I’m going to like it here at the work place. :)

Oh, and I guess I need to make use of my (perfectly legal) driving license one of these days… I haven’t driven in a long time, no secret about that.

What was funny was that I had friends offering to hand over their car keys to me in a (very) brave attempt to get me to start driving. Goodness.. May God bless their cars then. LoL

Okie nah, my driving skills isn’t as horrible as that.. It’s just that I’ve been lazy and the last time I was behind the steering wheel - I believe I was 18 then. And I’m 21 now. Yeah. Do the simple but shocking math yourself. ;)
