shark attackPosted on Thu, July 28th, 2005 @ 3:56 pm
Good grief. I never realize how hard it can be to plan a holiday trip.. until today!
See, the idea was to have an island holiday at Pulau Perhentian, sometime in August. But we’re having trouble deciding on a date. Coz the trip’s gonna involve lots of playing in the water, right? And it came to our attention that girls and periods do not go well with that -
“Hey, sharks might come and attack, don’t you know?”
Hahaha. Everyone started laughing then. =D Good point there. And so we’ve basically spent the entire day today discussing online - both the guys and the girls - about whose period is coming on which day and all. The conclusion? Every other weekend is out of the question, unless we wanna witness a shark attack. Geeeez. Then there’s talk about tips on how to get an earlier visit from ‘auntie’ and all, mostly from the guys… *faints* Suddenly they’re the experts on this?! Ahahah.
Maybe we’ll just skip this idea and go with a non-water holiday. Cameron Highlands, guys? It would make life a whole lot easier, that’s for sure. Back to conferencing now..! Byes.

newnessPosted on Sat, July 16th, 2005 @ 10:20 pm
Finally kicked laziness aside long enough to change the layout here. Something bright and dark at the same time, and a little bit more upbeat than the previous design.. It’s summertime!! Okay technically it’s always summer here in Malaysia… But let’s just pretend anyway. *dances around*
Oh, and hopefully none of you viewers got blinded by the colors. :P Hehe.

Darth Vader? Old Man? Disneyland? ^That is just SO wrong on so many levels. Ahahah.

trying to catch a breakPosted on Mon, July 11th, 2005 @ 5:41 pm
This song is on repeat whenever I open my Winamp. The entire album’s great too - The Emancipation Of Mimi. (Or The Constipation Of Mimi, as some people like to call it. :P) Mariah Carey is back with good songs, yayy.
We Belong Together
I didn’t mean it
When I said I didn’t love you so
I should have held on tight
I never should’ve let you go
I didn’t know nothing
I was stupid
I was foolish
I was lying to myself
I couldn’t have fathomed that I would ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I’d be
Sitting here beside myself
‘Cause I didn’t know you
‘Cause I didn’t know me
But I thought I knew everything
I never felt
The feeling that I’m feeling
Now that I don’t
Hear your voice
Or have your touch and kiss your lips
Cause I don’t have a choice
Oh, what I wouldn’t give
To have you lying by my side
Right here, ’cause baby
[Chorus:]
When you left
I lost a part of me
It’s still so hard to believe
Come back baby please, ’cause
We belong together
Who else am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who’s gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
Who’s gonna take your place
There ain’t nobody better
We belong together
I can’t sleep at night
When you are on my mind
Bobby Womack’s on the radio
Singing to me
‘If you think you’re lonely now’
Wait a minute
This is too deep, too deep
I gotta change the station
So I turn the dial
Trying to catch a break
And then I hear Babyface
I only think of you
And it’s breaking my heart
I’m trying to keep it together
But I’m falling apart
I’m feeling all out of my element
I’m throwing things
Crying
Trying to figure out
Where the hell I went wrong
The pain reflected in this song
Ain’t even half of what
I’m feeling inside
I need you
Need you back in my life baby
[Chorus]
Hmm I guess every girl has gone through what the song is saying, at least once in their love life? Sigh. Well if you haven’t do count yourself lucky. ;)

a birthday story, ++ other stuffPosted on Wed, July 6th, 2005 @ 12:55 am
I really didn’t mean to let this site go without updates for so long. I think I’ve been struck by a severe case of blogger’s block. Grrr. And anyway, by the time I get some kind of motivation to write an entry, the things I wanna talk about would be stale news already. :P
Okay, this is something fairly recent - Sunday afternoon at Red Box with my friends from MMU, where we celebrated the birthdays of Jimmy (June 30th) and Edison (July 3rd). No clubbing or hitting the casino for these two people, they just wanna celebrate turning 21 by singing their hearts out to karaoke tunes for 4 hours straight. :D Everyone had to sing solo on at least one song, as per Edison’s request. I got forced to sing 2 songs, all on my own. Geez. So shy, you know? Hehe. The room was dark but we tried snapping some photos anyhow…
The lovely Chocolate Banana cake, from Secret Recipe of course. :) *drools* We stuck one candle on it, the birthday people weren’t satisfied - “Let’s put 21 candles on the cake!” The rest of us - “21 candles?! Are you sure? Uhh okayy..”
The cake now had 21 candles poked on top and lighted up. Time to blow them out.. Wait, pose for a picture first! *click*
Candle lights gone. Everyone took a closer look… “Oh no, no more nice-looking cake.” So this was what happened to the poor cake that was overloaded with candles. Wax everywhere! But it was definitely still yummy. Ooh yeah. :)
Singsingsing. Work those vocal chords! I blanked out whenever a Chinese song got picked, which occurred plenty of times so I did blank out a lot.. :P.. It’s tough being illiterate in Chinese aka a BANANA. But oh! They had Edison Chen’s ‘I Never Told You’. Excitement. So I sang that.. Just the chorus though mostly. *sheepish smile* It’s hard to follow the rap verses, okie! LoL
Miscellaneous snapshots of the people who make life at MMU tolerable for me. :D :D There would’ve been more but the camera’s batteries died halfway…
Stim terpotong, whoops!
The outing continued with a viewing of War Of The Worlds at Times Square’s GSC cinema. Honestly? I didn’t like the movie. At all. Talk about a total letdown. The ending came out of nowhere and it was hardly a satisfying one either. Dakota Fanning had a really annoying scream as well. ;( Later we had dinner/supper at Jalan Alor and that was kinda interesting.. Robin was driving Phaik Gaik’s car and somehow reversed into a Kembara while parking. And the Kembara belonged to the lady who ran a restaurant at Jalan Alor! She immediately came to check her car and thank goodness there was hardly any dents or scratches so she just let the whole thing slide. Whew. Of course, we chose to eat at her restaurant after that.. :P
All rites, since I’m blogging… Would just like to say here, Happy Birthday #21 again to JimmyLee and EdisonSow.. Shēng rì kuài lè, měi tiān kuài lè! <3
Apart from that, Yeeng turned 21 on June 29th, so Happy 21st to you too! :) Thanks for the great party at your house, Yeeng. Yayy. I know of 2 other friends who also had their birthdays sometime last week… Wow freaky. It truly had been a birthday week through and through. Hehe.
