whirlwind weekendPosted on Wed, July 12th, 2006 @ 3:19 am
Back to your regular program, folks!
Can you believe that the World Cup is OVER?
It just seemed to have whooshed by us. What an emotional 1-month ride it was too! My favourite, Brazil, didn’t make it all the way to the final which was heartbreaking, but France was definitely the better team that night. *sighs* So yeah. :)
Congrats to Italy for a dramatic win, applause to Zizou for his Golden Ball award despite his headbutting antics ;), and… I don’t know about you, but I feel sorry for David Trezeguet. Aww.
I caught the World Cup final at the Sri Neela mamak aka Projektor. I haven’t been to this place in over a year I think. :P They’ve extended and added in an air-conditioned area, whoa. It was pretty happening, LoL -
• Terence kept declaring, “Kaka boo!” -_-”
• My friend Ryan got influenced and started going, “Kaka boo!” as well. -_-”
•Ivan started out by supporting France for the first 90 minutes, then switched over to Italy afer that. -_-”
Umm right. Like I said, pretty happening. :P We all couldn’t wait to go home after the match finally ended one hour later than anticipated. Especially the few of us who went down to Melaka for the weekend - we barely had enough time to rest upon returning home on Sunday evening before we came out to Projektor that night. Whew!
Speaking of the Melaka trip… That was crazyy, but in a good way. Haha. Sally, Terence, Ivan, and I were the KL representatives, while Garick, Lawrence, and Dominic drove down from Nilai. Sandy and her Emcee gang were at Melaka too. :D
So there was a barbecue at Yong Chia’s place, followed promptly by a long drinking session. The 2 birthday boys, Han Ren and William, definitely got more than just a little bit tipsy. Ahahah. Han Ren even went for beer guzzling through a garden hose. There was puking, there was lots of nonsensical talk, and there was plenty of laughter going around. Good stuff. Some problems came up with the sleeping arrangements but in the end everyone managed to find a spot to doze off. Hehe.
It was quite a tiring weekend for me. On Friday night, I came back from a job interview at Phileo Damansara and rushed to Tanjung to meet up with some old high school friends. The occasion? To welcome Yun Hui back from Scotland, where she was studying pharmacy for a year and a half. :) Bumped into Ryan there who was with another gang of ex-SMSJ people. LoL
When I reached home, I did some speed packing for the Melaka trip the next day. Once I got that done, I sat down in front of the computer to work on an assignment given by my interviewer at Phileo Damansara. Yeah, I had to do work even before I got hired, haha. That was funny. I gave it my best shot, finishing it up at 6.30 AM. Finally I could sleep, yayy! But I had to wake up 2 hours later, at 8.30 AM because Terence was coming to pick me up at around 9 AM. :P
All in all, I have to say I enjoyed the weekend. Wheee. Gotta appreciate my free time (as a jobless person :P) while I still can, coz it’s not going to last for long now, fingers crossed. ;)
I’m still in the middle of editing pictures! And also designing a new layout for this site! I figured I should try to be a bit more hardworking at maintaining my blog. *grins*
In the meantime, here’s a preview of the photos to come -
