time is standing still for mePosted on Mon, August 28th, 2006 @ 11:03 am
Four movies.
I caught four movies in the cinema this week.
Can you believe it? My wallet can’t. :P
The list went as follows - The Ant Bully, Monster House, Click, and Snakes on a Plane.
My favourite was Click. Got me teary-eyed at one superly emotional and touching scene. LoL
And I was thinking about the movie as I slugged through the usual crawling traffic jam on the way to work today. At first the idea of being able to fast forward on all the crappy parts of your life really sounded appealing to me. Especially at this point where I seriously am not at my happiest, to say the least. I know time’s going to make it all better, but not immediately. So wow, wouldn’t it be great if I could just skip it all and land myself at the exact moment where I’ll be okay again?
But I guess that’s when the moral of the story kicks in. You could choose to move ahead when something bad approaches, but how sure are you that you won’t miss out on something good in between? Also there will be events in your life that are so significantly devastating and yet you would wanna be there all the same. Coz I think our sadness defines who we are, apart from our joys, yeah?
I don’t wanna dwell on things too much, so I’m just going to end this entry with a huge THANKS to the wonderful people who helped me get through this thus far. I hope you know I appreciate it all so much. :)
Take care everyone. Have a fulfilling week ahead!

it’s not fun to be left in the dark…Posted on Thu, August 24th, 2006 @ 12:39 am
… Like, literally.
My colleagues have this freaky habit of playing around when we’re all in the elevator. Specifically, Fadzli - one of our designers. *smacks forehead* You know what Fadzli likes to do? He’d make sure everyone’s tucked in nicely into the elevator… and then he’d switch off the lights!!
All the girls: *screams* AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Today, we screamed all the way from 1st floor to Basement 3. That’s four entire floors’ worth of screams. I was tempted to hit Fadzli but couldn’t since it was dark and I didn’t want to attack the wrong person by accident. Eesh. I think someone did try to, though. It was havoc in there. :P
I officially declare that I have crazy colleagues. And I’m glad. :D Haha.

bulk updatingPosted on Fri, August 18th, 2006 @ 12:23 am
Hi everyone. Just returned from a stretched-long dinner at Hartamas with some MG folks, namely Becky, Isky, Maxine, Bernard, Ivan, Terence, and Sandy. Yup, Bernard’s finally back from Land of the Sesat - err, Thailand that is. LoL Welcome back! We’ve all missed our penguin, yeah? *winks*
I’m officially a working girl now. Proud of me? LoL So far it’s been cool… I have friendly colleagues who have been telling me outrageous jokes. Hahaha. Madness. The job’s interesting too, I’m just trying to absorb everything as quick as possible. :D They use Macs here, which are fancy little things to play with, but I miss the speed and familiarity of PCs. Oh well.
My convocation was last Sunday. I got roses! My friends are the best. <3
It’s amazing how simple things like ice cream can brighten up a day. Last weekend I got treated to Baskin Robbins (Jamoca Almond Fudge, yummm) - thank you! :) :) So sweet.
I’ve been missing the MMU gang, and we finally had a reunion of sorts last week, before convocation day on Sunday. Thursday night’s beer session at Hartamas’s Karma only served as a warm up to the following night… At Karma, we basically lounged around, sipping beer and learning how to play Dai Wa Sik (Lying Dice? I suck at translations :P). It’s that game with dices which was played between Will Turner, his dad, and Davey Jones on the ship at Pirates of the Carribean 2. Yeahh. Fun game. Loads of laughing involved. :D
Then came Friday. We were at MMU’s campus bright and early in the morning for rehearsal for our convocation. Woohoo. Come nighttime, we were ready to partyyy. We ended up at The Loft. It was tons of fun, hahaha. Everyone got tipsy on Dewar’s and proceeded to the dancefloor after that. Guys who wore button-down shirts became victims of pseudo-molesting… ahahah. ;) It was a successful clubbing experience I’d say, yeah? Especially in the wake of the fiasco that was the Genting Chivas rave.
The excitement, umm, continued when we left the club… I was in Ed’s car with Daniel and Billy, and we got stopped at a roadblock! Grrr. The policeman couldn’t get anything out of the Breathalyzer test, so then he started insisting that Ed had driven beyond the speed limit. Pfft. We got that settled eventually… And we thought it’d be smooth sailing from thereon. BUT. Then we lost our way! LoL So it was like an impromptu road trip, where we traveled down one highway to another, going “where are we??” a gazillion times, and making a few U-turns in between. I think we covered a few cornerpoints of the Klang Valley. Haha. :P
Upon reaching home, I was still laughing at the weird unexpected night. Then a phone call came in at 5.30AM… The conversation got me thinking a lot. Hmmm.
Okie enough chit chat. Let’s give a warm welcome for…. the long-awaited Genting (non)Rave pictures! :D And yeah, we didn’t get into the rave in the end coz we were waiting for one more car to show up, and by the time everyone was gathered around at 12.30AM, they’d closed the entrance due to the event being overcrowded. Omg. We were all like, “Let’s boycott Chivas!!!…. for one week.” Hiaks.

msn junkiesPosted on Thu, August 10th, 2006 @ 3:19 am
EngSoon aka Ed was my housemate during my 3rd year in MMU. If anyone’s a bigger MSN junkie than me, it’s him!
He calls me ‘dudette’ on MSN. Why? Coz I won’t let him call me ‘dude’, that’s why. LoL It just sounds so male-ish, ya know… And, well, I’m (quite obviously) not a guy. :P
Unfortunately, Ed is the person I dump all my pointless and silly stories onto. He puts up with it though. In fact, he can really layan whatever nonsense I type up. For instance (we love our Manglish, by the way :D)…
me: the more i see of celica, the more i like it
me: :D
me: next time i wanna own one…
me: white color de
Ed: if u rili got extra money
Ed: i think in my life i wont own a celica…mayb my son
me: :P
me: when i showed my dad which one is the celica..
me: he said, “harr? 2 doors only wor.. how to fetch me and ur mummy?”
me: hahaha funny lar my dad
Ed: lolz
Ed: u jus tell ur daddy
Ed: this is for 2 person only…so its only for me n my bf…or u and mummy
Ed: :D
me: hahaha
me: actually i told my dad, “dont worry.. i will keep the kelisa to fetch u and mummy”
me: *laughing icon*
Ed: wahahaha
me: then he looked so sad liao
me: lol
Ed: hahahha
Ed: he look sad..but at the same time, i think he oso know u simply say only
Ed: lol
me: haha yeah

Like I said… He can seriously layan. :P
Time to catch up on some zzz’s. Niteys. :)

fabbity fab fab weekendPosted on Wed, August 9th, 2006 @ 1:57 am
Editing a couple of pictures really shouldn’t be this hard. Eesh.
I think last weekend was worth mentioning. :D Becky threw a birthday steamboat party (thanks to Becky + Isky for having us!)… There were lots of people. Lots of eating. Some pool-playing and Chor Dai Dee-ing. :P Just about everyone left with loaded tummies. Yay. Well except for Tinkit who was allergic to seafood, and steamboat is basically that, plus some vegetables… aiks. He got his food later on at Asia Cafe, hehe.
After that it was a full-on crazyfun karaoke session at Galaxy KTV with Sandy, Garick, Terence, Ivan, and Tinkit. Imagine singing (and by singing I mean shouting our throats sore :P) for four hours in the wee hours of the night! Loved the Backstreet Boys songs especially, Anywhere For You and As Long As You Love Me. Nostalgic-ness. And when the gang belted out THAT song by Beyond (I forgot the title but it’s a super duper popular tune of theirs), I swear the entire room was shaking. LoL
Sunday night was a tamer affair - dinner at Star Cafe at 1 Utama, followed by a few rounds at the arcade centre. Then came the highlight of the night… an eating marathon at Asia Cafe. We had seafood extravaganza!! We ordered grilled stingray, baby squids, bamboo clams, fried soft-shell crabs, yummy man tou bread which were crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside… then washed them all down with fruits and strawberry apom pancake.
It was madness. The food was good, but I ended up with a bad tummyache for the rest of the night till morning. I felt like curling up to die honestly, LoL The pain was similar to gastric’s, but I doubt I could’ve gotten gastric after consuming oodles of food?! Hmm mysterious. Anyways, no more crazy eating spree like that for me. Ugh.
… I think. Hahaha. :X

so why don’t we go, somewhere only we knowPosted on Fri, August 4th, 2006 @ 3:19 pm
*bounces around*
Hi guys! Welcome to my new home on the world wide web. :D I see some of you have even managed to find your way here before my official announcement. LoL
Well here I am, all settled in at stanch.net. Much thanks to Ivan for the space and for all the help whenever I ran into technical glitches in setting up this blog. :P Since we’re all friends here, I guess I won’t feel too bad about stuff like raping the bandwidth if I wanna…
Haha just kidding! I’ll be a well-behaved hostee. Really. ;)
And with this new start and new design - I’m hoping to be more open with my thoughts here as well. Coz I realize previously, my blog didn’t show my personality much. I blogged about safe topics most of the time… Which was all right, but I wanna be comfortable enough to just blab about whatever’s on my mind without holding back, even if it means speaking out on things that may be politically incorrect, or unpleasant, or even crude. :P
Coz honestly, that’s how I am with my close friends sometimes. We make up stupid dirty jokes, we poke fun at each other mercilessly, we laugh till we cry (and fall off from chairs at times), we gossip and wonder if that girl was really so innocent that she didn’t know what a dildo was, we get serious about subjects like death and having criminal friends and holding on to someone we love even though they may not love us anymore…
Sometimes. That’s how it is. That’s how I am. :P Now you know. Hehe.
Oh, and if you were wondering, I chose ‘404′ for my subdirectory url just because I thought it’d be fun. LoL Usually a ‘404′ would indicate a page not found and you won’t get to where you want to go - but here, it’s the opposite! :D
I WILL get to editing and posting up the Langkawi pictures. And maybe a few of the Genting ones too. Hehe. I’ve just been busy going in and out of the house these days. Sales are everywhere! I’ve probably visited every major shopping mall around here at least once in the past 2 weeks. Fun fun.
In other news, I’ve gotten a job at an advertising agency at Phileo Damansara. I’ll be starting on the 15th this month. Plus I have a car now. Yayyy. It makes meeting up with people a lot easier. I’ve christened my car’s name to be RiCARdo (and Sandy’s is CARlos, teehee). If you didn’t know, Ricardo is the real name of the Brazilian and AC Milan footie player, Kaka. *winks* (Insert Terence going, “Kaka boooo” here. Argh. :P)
More updates to come soon. Stay tuned ya.
