a quick review on movies seen recently

Casino Royale
Daniel Craig’s James Bond is a cheeky, blond and blue-eyed, and all-for-love kind of guy, who doesn’t mind getting dirty and bloody during his line of work. I guess the movie is a throwback to the old, more traditional Bond flicks… And Casino Royale is after all the very first James Bond novel written. So it’s got a classic, slow-paced feel to it. Eva Green’s Vesper Lynd is elegantly gorgeous, but not intense enough for me. And the bad guy isn’t sinister enough either, shame about that. So in conclusion? I didn’t really enjoy the movie, but a lot of other people did, so you gotta watch it for yourself to reach a verdict. Maybe I just prefer my Bond to be dark-haired. LoL

Step Up
As mentioned in a previous post, I adored this movie. I think I got bitten by the dancing bug again. :D Channing Tatum’s hip hop moves rock, the music is really good, and yeah, Jenna Devan sure has a lot of nice dance outfits. Heh heh. :P I’ll be waiting for its DVD to be out.

Happy Feet
Yesh, the penguins are way too cute. And watch out for the gang of midget penguins, they’re hilarious! Especially the one called Ramon. Ahahah. Story-wise, it was all right. Lotsa singing and happy feeting (dancing :P). You even get a moral lesson at the end, aww. I still think Flushed Away is the best animated movie for 2006. ;)

Deja Vu
I caught this one yesterday. The plot starts off with the bombing of a ferry boat that caused the deaths of many passengers. Exciting stuff. Denzel Washington’s acting was solid and his character was likeable… I got confused at certain parts but everything worked out in the end. There’s really nothing to hate about this movie, it’s got action, suspense, sci-fi and even heartwarming elements.

Mr JT can be hard to resist…

Because, I can see us holding hands
Walking on the beach our toes in the sand
I can see us on the country side
Sitting on the grass laying side by side…

See, the thing about Justin Timberlake’s latest batch of songs is this. You start out being irritated by them - the irregular beats, the overly-synthesized sounds, the weird vocals, and all that jazz.

But then.

Eventually it grows on you. The hooks stick to your brain and refuse to let go. And pretty soon you’d find yourself turning up the volume whenever his songs come on the radio, bopping your head and singing along. It’s inevitable. -_-”

So yeah. I dunno how he does it, but Justin Timberlake really knows how to craft catchy music.

My love
My looooooove
My looooove
My loooooove
(x10 to the power of infinity as the tune loops in your head)

miss lazy blogger reporting in…
Posted on Fri, November 24th, 2006 @ 11:04 am

I know I have plenty to blog about… now if only I can bring myself to actually process them through and type them up here!

Life’s been slightly on the dramatic side. Just slightly. But let’s not dwell on the stressful things in life, ya? :)

Okie let’s see. Last week went by real quick. Thursday’s outing at Laundry Bar for Project Bazooka was sorta boring, no thanks to the uninspiring sets played by all 3 bands that night. *snores* Before that, me and my colleague, Maverick aka Budak Biadap hung out at Ikea doing all sorts of nonsense like testing out every office chair they had there - we really got comfy with the chairs, lazing around and spinning and all that. At one point an Uncle walked by and gave us an amused smile. Haha whoops. It was Mave’s fault, I swear! He started it. :X Ooh and I tried Ikea’s ice cream cone for the very first time… I think it’s better than McDonald’s. Nyums. :D

Last Friday was a happy day coz I finally got to satisfy my cravings for Paddington’s pancakes!! Along with Maxine, Ian, and Raymond, we managed to stuff ourselves crazy. It felt like our plates were bottomless. I’d say it was a successful dining experience. ;) Later on I caught this B-grade horror flick called Boo… It had its intense moments, though you really can’t expect much from a cheapo production. :P

Saturday was the joint birthday celebration for Terence, Maxine, and Garick - hope you guys had a great one. :D And thanks for having us! The barbecue party was fun from start till end, with drinking and IQ games along the way. Wheeee. Apologies coz I had to leave early ya.. I had to make my way to SS14 for the drinking session designed to bring down LeeChuan the birthday boy. :P Too bad by the time I was there, he was already knocked off and running to the toilet to puke. LoL The smart people that are EngSeen and JoonKong (sorry I got your name wrong the first few times, dude :X) bought a carton of Anchor Strong beer, and after they got me to finish up a can THEN they were kind enough to inform me that its alcohol content was actually 8.8%. *faints* The usual beer has only like what, 5%? Eesh. EngSeen fell asleep and LeeChuan drove home after a while, leaving me, YongPing, and JoonKong to entertain ourselves in JoonKong’s room. The official word of the night was “Haiyarr!”, though eventually JK banned me and YP from saying it, claiming that it was his trademark after all. He even marked down on a piece of paper of how many times we uttered it, for royalty claiming purposes. Pfft. We decided to have breakfast at 5.30AM before calling it a night (or morning?) at 7AM. I came home and I couldn’t sleep so I stayed up till 10 before finally being overwhelmed by fatigue. Total zombie-ness. Bleh.

After waking up later on, I headed to Sunway Pyramid with Ian, Raymond, and Owen where we met up with Sandy, Terence, Tinkit, and Nick. We hung out at Kim Gary for a bit and then had our dinner at Asia Cafe. We ended up at Asia Cafe’s cybercafe after that… some played DotA and some played Counter Strike.. Ray and I were o2Jam-ing. :P Haha fun fun fun. The night ended with a laidback mamak session at Dataran Prima with LeeChuan, Tommy, and George… where I got force-fed with some yummy food by Tommy. -_-” I told him if I got fat, he’d automatically get the blame.

Yeah, so that was basically how the previous week went. :)

Oh one more thing… I gotta say Step Up was a kickass movie! The dancing and the soundtrack were just superb… and y’know, Channing Tatum.. what can I say.. A good-looking guy who knows how to move well - now that’s hot. :D

Ooooh gotta get out to meet a client soon. Ta!

where’s the party at tonight?
Posted on Thu, November 16th, 2006 @ 4:38 pm

The superior, not-so-young beings in the office always like to ask us younger crowd, “So where’s the party at tonight?”

Well there are 3 places I’d like to mention here, just in case anyone out there is looking for somewhere new to hang out. ;)

Bed, Asian Heritage Row (Jalan Doraisamy)
Rain Lounge, Modestos Sri Hartamas
Skybar, Trader’s Hotel

Out of those 3, I’ve only been to Bed… :P It was so-so in terms of both decor and music. The DJ spins house tunes on Saturday nights, while I heard that it’s R&B on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Loft which is situated right opposite of Bed, is tons better. :)

Rain Lounge? Boss got us invites to its opening launch, but I guess no one went in the end. LoL As for Skybar.. we’ll wait till our cash situation picks up a little ya? *grins at all club-loving friends*

that’s so high school
Posted on Fri, November 10th, 2006 @ 3:15 pm

“Look at that guy! Is his hair cool or what?”
“Did you see the girl’s outfit?”
“Hey, should we say ‘hola’ to the dude wearing that Mexican hat thingy??”

Lunchtime with colleagues always, without fail, involves observing anyone and everyone who walks past our table. We’d make all sorts of remarks, the good the bad and the nonsensical.

So today wasn’t any different. We settled ourselves down at the indoor area of McDonald’s outlet at Pusat Bandar Damansara, and a moment later us girls (me, Syah, Shelly, and Farah) spotted something eye-catching.

“Cute guy alert! The one in black!”

Cute Guy was seated outdoors with two other friends, only the glass wall separating his table from ours. His casual clothes and book bag revealed him as a college student, so he was obviously younger. But heck, he had the nicest smile, not unlike Alan Yun. *grins* Us girls would keep throwing glances at Cute Guy’s table and laughing, while the guys, Fadzli and Maverick, rolled their eyes and teased us.

I guess we were checking him out too blatantly coz a while later Cute Guy and his friends started looking our way and pointing and smiling at each other. Not that we cared much, since it was all in good silly fun.

The REALLY funny part came when Cute Guy and friends got up to leave. When they had their backs turned on us, us girls began to playfully wave goodbye… THEN THE CUTE GUY SUDDENLY TURNED AROUND AND CAUGHT US WAVING AT HIM.

He merely laughed, waving back at us before walking off.

We dissolved into uncontrollable laughter for a good five minutes, I think. It was just hilarious. *giggles* :D

So hey, our high school days may have been left behind quite some time ago. But it’s still amusing to revisit those times once in awhile, eh? ;)

P.S. The Internet at home died on me. Boo. How can an Netaholic like me survive? Howw? :(

P.P.S. The trip to Melaka a couple of weeks ago was a bundle of FUN. :D Not to mention Chee Siong’s open house party that turned out to be a birthday celebration in disguise… eesh! Gotta say, Chee Siong makes the best Tequila Sunrise around. No kidding. We had many many cocktails at the party, of which I’d show you pictures but as mentioned above, I have no Internet at home.. I’m blogging from my workplace now! (Boss, if you’re reading this, please just disregard that little info. :P)

P.P.P.S Happy Buttday to LeeChuan!!~ You’ve been an awesome friend. When’s the drink-till-you-die session gonna take place? Yikes.

P.P.P.P.S. Okie I’m really done this time. Bye y’all!
