January 27…

Besides it being the night that it RAIN-ed in Malaysia upon over 10,000 folks here, January 27 was also the date when a certain Aussie-fied babi returned to KL after a year of studying in Sydney.

Welcome home, Darren Lam. It’s good to have you back, babi-ness and all. :P

Had a long day at work again… I was in the office till 9:30PM. But everything is good coz I got to see the essential people after that - at SS2 Murni were Sabrina, Raymond, Terence, Garick, Lawrence and Esther - later on at SS15 Al-Rafi were Darren, Ryan, CheeKeat, and KimHooi. :D I even bumped into Nic Chin at Rafi… We clubbed together at Bed (Asian Heritage row) before. Wheee.

And look everyone, I got a little something from Australia. *in shock* Funky keychain, me likes. Thanks! :)

Rain came, Rain saw, Rain conquered!

I WENT TO RAIN’S CONCERT
AND HAD THE BEST TIME EVER!

Omg omg. I never expected I would be going… Coz I’d decided right from the start that the tickets were just too pricey and sadly, not quite worth it for 2 hours of entertainment even if it was by THE hottest Asian star currently.. ;(

But somehow last minute-ly, I managed to get my hands on some free tickets.. And for this, I have TUNG LEECHUAN to thank. So thankyouthankyouthankyou times infinity!! I won’t ever forget this, ahhhhhhh. =D

The concert was a blast. The dancing was top notch, the special effects were nothing sort of wowing, and.. omg Rain in the flesh!! Awesome. Gotta say though, there were plenty of aunties there who were easily more excited than I was. LoL

And I’m so sorry I couldn’t bring anyone along with me, since my 2 sisters immediately snapped up the free tickets the moment I got the phone call from LeeChuan. :P Glad that they enjoyed the concert as much as I did. Wheee.

And you know what the best part was?? Rain sang my absolute favourite song of his for his encore - ANNYONGIRAN MARDWESHIN! *jumps up and down* By that time, everyone were on their feet, dancing along and cheering their throats sore!!

Happy happy night. How am I ever gonna fall asleep tonight I wonder? Heh heh. I first took notice of this tiny-eyed Korean artiste coz of the drama series Full House, and then I started listening to his songs, and then I was won over by his amazing dance moves… and now? After seeing his impressive live performance, I’ve just become an even more ardent fan than ever of Rain aka Jeung Ji Hun aka Bi. :D Noticed that his eyes are even smaller than mine.. haha cute!

And yeahh, do check out the music download section on the left sidebar there. I’m spreadin’ the luv… ;)

this entry is not cool enough to have a title
Posted on Fri, January 26th, 2007 @ 12:48 am

So I wonder how many people have assumed that I’d abandoned this site yet again, leaving it updateless for weeks on end? Hehehe. *guilty smile*

I guess sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. Work-wise, there’s some new challenges in store for me… I took on a new client, knowing it’s a huge account and it would consume about 120% of my working hours while having to still juggle and not neglect my other client accounts… So yeah. If you see me online from morning till after 7 at night and I hardly get to reply your messages fast enough - you can guess why now. ;)

When I do get some free time, the last thing I feel like doing is to sit in front of the computer. Coz that’s what I do all day long at the office anyway. :P So yeah, I’d rather go out and meet up with friends. Last weekend was a blast - movie with colleagues, steamboat and karaoke with MG people plus guests of honor YongChia and Hong, pool with an old MMU friend… All were great company! :) Hmm I just realized how much I miss playing pool on a regular basis with the usual crowd being LeeChuan, Tommy (the best coach everrr :D), BenHao, and YiShen. Those were seriously good times.

Ooh ooh. I’ve been catching some pretty decent movies lately, after being sorely disappointed again and again by what 2006 had to offer at the cinema. Ghost Cinderella was a Korean horror flick with a reasonable storyline and plenty of shocking moments. Good stuff. The Holiday was a typical romantic movie, but I enjoyed the gorgeous scenery, interesting dialogue, and a charming cast - Jude Law in particular. LoL *melts* What else.. oh yeahh, Death Note 2. Well considering I didn’t watch the first movie, I wouldn’t know if the ending was a satisfying one or not, or whether there were any loose ends to the plot. Gotta say though, the entire concept really got me thinking. And L the detective is one heck of a quirky and hilarious character! I couldn’t stop laughing at his funny scenes.

Lately I also got into watching non-mainstream movies. One of them was Amores Perros (Love’s A Bitch), a DVD from Fadzli’s collection which all of us at the office watched one evening after work. Very gritty and brutal. But it would stick to you like a bullet in the head. ;) I borrowed Trainspotting from Maverick, it’s a classic that I’ve heard so much about but have not gotten the chance to see it, until now. I’ll be looking forward to watching it sometime this week. Ewan McGregor in the buff. Hrmmm. :P Hehe thanks to my colleagues’ influence, I’m starting to appreciate the kind of movies that would never get past the censorship board here due to its level of inappropriate content, like violence and drugs and so on. Woots.

I’ve been a fan of Edison Chen for quite some time now, and you know what? I recently became even prouder to call myself that, after watching a movie of his called Dog Bite Dog. He was certainly nowhere near good-looking in the movie, but I think for once people are gonna take him seriously as an actor. He played the lead role of a Cambodian killer really well, with minimal dialogue - it was all about his acting skills and nothing else. :D The ending sucked though… hmph.

So I dunno if anyone still visits this blog.. But it’s kinda comforting in a way, coz now I feel like I can just blab on and on without overthinking every word I wanna say. :P

Dare I say that life is going well for me right now? …My car got banged for the 3rd time last week.. It was indeed a low point for me, climbing out of my car in the rain to find the damage on the back bumper and bonnet, and then making the drive to the police station to face unfriendly policemen… But luckily Ray was around and he definitely helped out a lot. Thanks, you’re such an awesome chi mui. Hahaha.

And I still miss my grandfather who passed away early last month. But as a friend who lost his grandfather too had told me, “Life goes on.” And it really does. I cried plenty during the funeral, but I celebrated 2 friends’ birthdays on the very same weekend as well. I dunno what people would think, but I figured as long as I remembered to honor and respect the memories of my grandfather… That would be good enough. For him and for me. :)

In between the sad things, I’m still surrounded by people who make me smile. I still have love around me. And for that, I’d say… Life’s going pretty much great. :D

Velocity KL…
Posted on Fri, January 5th, 2007 @ 9:56 am

Sooo… You know you’re a total failure as a blogger when you keep writing about things that took place more than a week ago..! :P

But still, as backdated as it is, I’d like to talk about the Friday night that Velocity came to grace our shores!

On the fateful Friday night, I was supposed to be at Chili’s for dinner. But things didn’t go exactly as planned, and I ended up being stuck in the office until 10PM. -_-”

Just as I was about to leave for home, there was a phone call from LeeChuan: “Hey, Kwan Yean has free tickets to this rave party at Sunway. Wanna go??”

Me in my tired and blur state of mind just went, “Hmm rave party? Okay, why not! Let’s just drop by to see if it’s any good.”

It wasn’t until we were looking for parking at Sunway, that it struck me - it was Velocity night! The rave party that I was going to was Velocity! *smacks forehead* I’d been hearing about it and seeing the poster here and there since about a month back, but it didn’t click that that was where I was headed to, until that point… ahahah. Geez. Shyness.

So yeah. Velocity KL? It was aww-right. :D They emptied out the entire wave pool and that became the main dance area. We walked from one end to the other end of Sunway Lagoon, saying hi to familiar faces and getting free liquor from friends. ;) But y’know, to me trance music starts to sound all the same after two hours.. so I can’t really comment on the sets played that night. I know Judge Jules’s playing got lotsa whoops of approval from the crowd though. :P

It was a crazy night with crazy people… Zen and his breakdancing antics, EngSeen with his weird rating system on hot chicks, and talking nonsense with a number of characters (friends of friends) whose names I didn’t catch or couldn’t recall.. hehe.

And I think I still have sand in my shoes…!
