a babi turns 23

Happy birthday
to Darren “Babi” Lam
who turned 23
on February 24th!

Kinda belated but better late than never, rite? ;)

A bunch of us went over to Darren’s place for a drinking session… I saw about 8 faces whom I have not seen for, what, 3 years? Some even 5 years. Not since graduating from high school. Yeahh. I’m pretty bad at keeping in touch with people. *shy* Haha.

We played that popular drinking game, “007″, with some Black Label and Chivas. Apparently it’s not a well-known game among SMSJ people, coz I was practically the only one who knew how to play and so I was demonstrating while the rest looked a little uncertain on whether it’d be too complicated to participate in. LoL Well everyone started laughing and getting tipsy-excited halfway through, so it was all good. Darren got too happy whenever I lost and had to drink, arghh. Babi-ness.

I guess the usual folks I mix around with - Ryan and Darren - they noticed I was being quiet most of the time and kept asking if I was okay. Hehe. *is touched* I didn’t even realize I was normally super talkative with them until then. Hmm. Guess I was too absorbed in my own thoughts that night.

Anyway after we were done with drinking, we all somehow ended up hanging out at Darren’s front gate at 3.30 AM, eating chocolate-flavored Rocky and having lazy conversations with each other. Adrian was telling lame jokes, JinHui was hyper and jumping around and lamenting that there’s no good looking guys in Malaysia, CheeKeat was recovering from a massive dosage of alcohol, and we kept teasing SzeJian with his nickname, KillerChuah.

And Darren and I… you know, we used to only meet up like once a year? Well a while back he said things will be different this year, and I guess so far he’s been right. We’ve met up 3 times in a month. Wow. What a record! We were laughing about that and Darren was like, “So I’ll be seeing you 36 times this year.” Hrmphh. It’s weird that both of us are from different groups of friends, and yet we’ve managed to stay friends since we were 12 until now.

To the boy who used to be shorter than I am (we still do the “let’s measure our heights and compare” thing every year, omg)… Who used to bicker with me (”stupid idiot!” “oh fuck off!”)… Who knows just about every guy I’ve ever liked and I know every girl he’s ever liked… Who gave me the nicknames ‘Miss Choosy’ and ‘Babi Hutan’ (*rolls eyes*)… Who nags like an old person and yet understands like a true friend does too… Who gives pretty decent advice when I need some… Who is the babi-est of the babi-est…

… Hope you enjoyed and had a great celebration. You deserve nothing less. :D

Continuing from where I left off in the previous post… So what did my night of February 14 consist of? Here’s the basic rundown: a steamboat dinner, a nasty experimentation of gin + apple juice, drinking games, and good times with some awesome MMU friends - RongPing, EngSeen, Tommy, and LeeChuan.

I went home happy. :)

Pictures! Hmm I think I’ve forgotten how to use Photoshop… but I tried my best. ;)

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone. ;)

Yeah I know how some would say it’s been totally commercialized like crazy. But hey, I guess it’s here to stay whether we like it or not - sorta like Paris Hilton.. and cockroaches.. hehe. :P Plus, it’s interesting to see how people get more and more creative in ways to express their affection towards their loved ones.

Will update with photos a little later… flowers and chocolates. *beams*

Hope all of you have a great Wednesday regardless of how you spend the day. :D Here’s a song which I think is pretty appropriate for February 14, so I’m going to end this entry with its lyrics. I’m sure most of you guys would recognize the song. :)

Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power, yeah
Some people live just to play the game
Some people think that the physical things
Define what’s within
and I’ve been there before
that life’s a bore
So full of the superficial

Some people want it all
But I don’t want nothing at all
If it ain’t you baby
If I ain’t got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain’t got you, yeah

Some people search for a fountain
That promises forever young
Some people need three dozen roses
And that’s the only way to prove you love him
Hand me the world on a silver platter
And what good would it be
with no one to share
with no one who truly cares for me

Some people want it all
But I don’t want nothing at all
If it ain’t you baby
If I ain’t got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain’t got you, you, you
Some people want it all
but I don’t want nothing at all
If it ain’t you baby
If I ain’t got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain’t got you, yeah

our hopes and expectations, black holes and revelations

To the MMU senior that I never got to know till he’s left university…

Happy Birthday, Tommy!

Close to 25 people showed up for his birthday celebration at Soda, Hartamas… About 8 bottles of Black Label were consumed… There were no alcohol casualties, even the birthday boy managed to stay awake until the end. *pfft*

Although there were lotsa funny tipsy moments.. Like Tommy smashing up his cake with an ashtray and later on asking, “Where’s my cake? I haven’t got to taste it yet!” Everyone laughed and went, “You ruined your own birthday cake just now!!”

I didn’t drink much at all, probably only 4 glasses.. Was too busy dancing most of the time. Wheeee. Soda Club looks a lot nicer now compared to when I last visited it last year, with awesome ambient lights outside, while inside there are intricate decorations, as well as plush sofas and pillows.

Second round of drinking began at 3 AM when a few of us headed back to LeeChuan’s apartment. We didn’t manage to finish the stash of Skol and Carlsberg beer before people started to fall asleep one by one. I stayed up, listening to LC’s mp3’s and playing Freecell (darn addictive okie!).. thinking about a lot of stuff… hmm.

Tired. I feel tired. No matter how much I sleep, there’s still this aching tiredness somewhere that won’t go away. I just wanna find a place of comfort, curl up, and dream endlessly. Wouldn’t that be great? :)

Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight
I will be chasing the starlight
Until the end of my life
I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore

i love thursday when i don’t have to go to work

Happy Thaipusam and Happy Federal Territory Day. :)

It’s been a relaxing day… Minus the morning wake up call from Ryan at 9AM with his one last attempt to get me to join the rest for rock climbing at Summit! Maybe someday okie? Someday I’ll come face-to-face with my fear of heights, and I’ll overcome my allergy to physical exercise… But just not today apparently. Heh heh. :P

I spent a fantastic lunch at Kajang with some gal pals from high school. Fish satay rocks. :D Then I came home and collapsed into a 3-hour nap. Hahaha. Some of you would know, just how much I can sleep… ;)

Okie time to leave the house and out to meet a friend for drinkies. Hope everyone’s enjoying their holiday too. Ta!
