whoosh

A sure-fire way to perk up a dull Sunday afternoon? It’s to find yourself in the passenger seat of an RX-7 FC, at the peak of Genting Highlands… whooshing all the way back to Subang in less than 2 hours. :D

Thanks to my colleague Eugene for the exciting ride. We were laughing a couple of times and going, “That was fun!” Especially the spontaneous racing with other sports cars on the highway - whenever a challenge was spotted, Eugene would go, “Ahem excuse me ya”, switching off the air conditioning and winding down the windows just enough so that we don’t suffocate from a lack of oxygen, and then WHOOSH. Soon the familiar sound of the turbo would kick in, and I’d just sit back and enjoy the ride.

It wasn’t supposed to have turned out this way though. I was in Genting for the weekend for work purposes - although it didn’t really feel like work in the end coz all we had to do was to show up for the Guinness 9 Ball Tour pool competition and then the Guinness Black Party later on at night. That was Saturday, and then on Sunday the initial plan was for me to hitch a lift back home from a female colleague, who drives a sensible Honda Jazz. But after a quick discussion about the locations of each person’s house, it was decided that I was better off going with Eugene since he stayed in Subang too anyway, as opposed to my Jazz-driving colleague whose home is in Shah Alam.

I didn’t mind the change of plans that much, of course. :) I liked the speed, I liked the open stretch of road ahead - this is freedom to me, and it never felt so good after having such a heavy week.

I guess I’ve yet to mention here that I just started my new job last week… Same work scope, but with a very much bigger company now. Though you’ll never hear me complaining about my new job, coz I’ve gotten to learn so much, but it doesn’t mean I’m finding it easy at all. :|

But heyy, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, rite? ;) Let’s hope so anyway. Hehe. As for the people at my new company.. Well let me put it this way, the girls here date local celebrities (or more like people who are big in the local music scene). And the guys, you get some like Eugene who have 2, 3 sports cars parked at home. Like whoa.

But y’know what, the best thing is that all these people have no huffy attitude whatsoever. Amazing! In fact these are genuinely nice and friendly folks who are absolutely professional when it comes to work. Now tell me how can I whine about my new job when the working environment is about as ideal as it can get? :P

All in all, it was a pretty fun weekend for me. Friday night was spent at the cinema watching Ocean’s 13 - highly recommended, go watch if you haven’t :) - and then drinks at Asia Cafe with some good company. And Sunday night was reserved for the MMU people, coz my ex-housemate Raphael drove up from Singapore so we all had a reunion of sorts. Nice. :D

And right about now, sleep would be nice too. *yawns* I’ve a habit of updating my blog just before I go to bed, I think. Haha. G’nite everyone!

and the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day ’til the feeling went away

Today I’m feeling -

so, so tired.

deeply heavy-hearted.

very much disappointed.

just a little bit angry.

And to top off a great day, I got a couple of colorful bruises on the leg when my tiny poodle dog jumped up and bit me hard on my thigh.

… Good thing I was wearing jeans. ;(

Here’s to the MMU buddy who is always up for fun, but is now also a workaholic stationed in Penang…

… And if you wanna know, the very first time I talked to him online he tricked me by saying he was quitting drinking - and on the very same night later on, we were at someone’s house for a drinking session and he was chugging down alcohol like there was no tomorrow. EESH. What a ‘good’ first impression to make, rite?

Nevertheless,

Happy 24th Birthday, Wayne!
Hope you have a good one :)

Wayne and I at Orange, Hartamas last December. He wasn’t pointing at anything, it was just a pose for the picture -_-”
