Yesh I’m blogging from the office coz I’m just a productive employee like that. Heh heh. :P

I got less than 2 hours of sleep on Monday night, no thanks to insomnia. Grrrr. I get so cranky when I have to operate on sleep deficiency. *bites* I’m still feeling the effects till today okie! -_-” My mind is only working at a speed of like, 10km per hour. Not good.

Oh oh oh, I just got word that MOS will be opening in Malaysia… And it won’t be in KL (city). In fact if the source is right, it’d be kinda close to where I live… mwahaha. :D

Now where did my weekend go?!

Hmm okie let’s recap a little…

Friday night was spent at The Curve with Ian and Paul. We had a bottle of wine at The Sanctuary - the place was crowded as usual, and the music was really good. If only they could rig up an actual dance floor inside, it’d be awesome! I bet it would totally beat *shudders* Mystique (located nearby at Cineleisure) in terms of clubbing experience. After the wine, we ordered a second round of our own drinks. Then we proceeded to move on to William’s, where the drinks were definitely cheaper, haha. ;)

On Saturday, I caught Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I went into the cinema with zero expectations, and so I came out 2 hours later feeling like the move was actually okay-ish. The only problem I had with this 5th installment of the Harry Potter series is that the movie cut out just about every single subplot there is from the book! And so the movie ended up kinda empty, plot-wise. Oh, and there were not many funny moments this time around. -_-” Too bad eh.

During the later part of Saturday night, after like 5 times of changing plans and location, the MMU gang (or what’s left of us who are still in KL/PJ anyway) met up at Club 7. Can’t believe the number has been reduced to a mere 4 of us - me, RongPing, Ed, and LeeChuan. But we managed to have a kickass time nevertheless. :D With round after round of beer and ciggies aplenty… which led to a huge emo heart-to-heart session. LoL Comparing problems, offering words of wisdom/tipsiness, laughing, sighing, and just relaxing while being ourselves without feeling the need to filter our thoughts… It was all good. That night was very much needed and appreciated!

RongPing left first at 2am, and followed by LeeChuan at almost 3.30am. Ed was nice enough to walk me to my car, but then we started a conversation and we ended up talking while standing next to my car for like 15 minutes. LoL So we decided to get a drink at good old Al Rafi and sit down for more chit-chatting… and before you know it, it was already 5.30am. Time to say goodbye to the (belated) birthday boy and head home for some precious zzz’s.

My Sunday was pretty quiet until evening came along - met up with Gan for a dinner of yummy pancakes at Paddington, anddd… TRANSFORMERS AGAIN! :D It was as great as the first viewing. Wheeee. :D :D :D

And that wraps up my weekend. How I wish weekends were longer than 2 days each time. Hmphh. Here’s to another new week, and counting down to the weekend when Harry Potter Book #7 will be out!! I’ve got my copy pre-ordered, what about you? ;)

Movie of the year?

It’s gotta be Transformers for me.

I’ve even joined the mass crowd on the search for those elusive RM49.90 Hasbro robot toys. Bumbleebee - IwantIwantIwant.

Other than that, life’s pretty much a wide slab of grey.

The other day I was on a phone call with a friend who’s gone abroad to work. Although the entire conversation tone was playful and punctuated with laughter, we were actually discussing our own personal fears in a subtle way.

And by fears, I don’t mean phobia of heights or blood - though admittedly I am afraid of those two things too. ;(

Actually it’s more like the kind of fears that keep you awake at night. The kind that you don’t want to think about at all, and that’s why you’d exhaust yourself every day, keeping your schedule full… just to ensure that you’re dead tired enough to immediately doze off once your head hits the pillow.

To my friend on the other end of the line, I did not deny being afraid of never being good enough. Hard work? I’m sure each of us is capable of it, but what if you put in your best effort and you still fall short? Just how many times can you get up after collapsing, before you surrender to the tides of defeat and just sink right in?

“Maybe I won’t even try. Or okay, maybe give me another year ya?” I said optimistically.

Amused laughter. “I’m just about ready to give up too,” he conceded.

Eventually we said good night, and I started to wonder why as we grow older, we don’t talk much about what we fear anymore. It’s definitely not because we’ve become less afraid of things compared to when we were kids.

My theory would be that, unlike back when we were small, we have parents who can chase away the monsters under our bed, we have a lollipop to savor after a painful injection to our arm, and we have a remote control to switch the channel if the tv show becomes too scary to watch.

And now? All you have is the comfort and strength of yourself, as well as perhaps the hope of better things to come tomorrow…

So yeahh. This post is created specially to say, Happy 23rd birthday to Ed aka EngSoon aka Soon Soon aka boo aka Goob aka hip hop boi. *whew, too many nicknames collected over the years* Thanks for a rockin’ friendship… 3 years and counting! Will see you soon enough. :)
