you don’t wear my chains

(shamelessly stolen from Deviantart.)

I was talking to a girlfriend the other day,
and when she heard what I had to say, all she could reply was,
“That’s so sad.”

And the funny thing was,
I didn’t even realize just how unhappy I’d been
until she put it into simple, blunt words for me.

forgotten promises of august
Posted on Fri, August 10th, 2007 @ 8:59 am

It’s only been the 10th day of a new month…

August feels like a month filled with unending doubts, and crossroads. And then more doubts. :(

But hey, in other news… I’m learning how to swim - again. :P My new Free Of Charge (FOC) coach is a tough and demanding one though. *rolls eyes*

FOC Swim Coach: (after 1.5 hours) You tired yet?
Me: Ermm nah, still all right. :D
FOC Swim Coach: Not tired? Okay, practise more then!
Me: -_-”

Oh well. At least I got rewarded with yummy cold cendol after the lesson. Mwahaha. And I’m almost there, I think. Just a few more sessions and I’d be able to tell everyone, “I know how to swimmm!” :P

Funniest moment of last week has gotta be when Wayne called at 4pm from his office just to share the story of his encounter with the Fountain of Shit. -_-” Someone is seriously too free at work.. eesh!

And…. Monkey Seen is back. =D Good to see him at Club 7 last Sunday - now if only I can get him to stop calling all the girls as “Auntie”! What has Singapore been teaching you eh? Tsk tsk.

This will be an entry where I’m gonna dump a whole bunch of pictures taken either recently (2 weeks ago) or a bit far back (2 months ago :P). Captions and textual narration will come later - just not tonight coz my brain has shut down for the day and I need to catch up on sleep after having nonstop action at work. Yupp, everything’s about work, work, and more work now. At least until Friday night comes along… ;)

So just bear with the lack of text for the time being okie. Hope you enjoy the pictures, especially of the ones I managed to snap for fun at Sepang’s Track Day. :D I had to place all the Track Day photos in a separate page so that the picture size doesn’t get compromised, otherwise you’d be squinting at some teeny tiny cars. And we wouldn’t want that, would we? Hehe.

This was me, Ed, and Daniel resorting to taking pictures while being stuck in a 3 AM-jam at The Curve’s carpark after a night out at Mystique (worst club ever, ughh)

LeeChuan and RongPing at Club 7 for Ed’s belated birthday celebration

Birthday boy with LC and RP… all 3 of ‘em are fellow MMU buddies <3

Me and Ed… a good friend to laugh with, and an even better friend to emo with!

Me and RongPing… it’s funny how I knew her right from my first week at MMU but we only got closer during our senior year. :P Always a fun girl to hang out with. :D

— Getting high on speed at the Sepang Circuit —

Okie so it was kinda a last-minute decision to attend the Track Day event… But yeahh, somehow I managed to get myself awake at 6.30am on a Sunday, and was ready by 7am when an ex-colleague, Tee came around to pick me up. We had breakfast at the Dengkil rest stop with another colleague, Eugene and a few of his friends.

It wasn’t the best racing conditions at the circuit that day - cloudy weather and the track road had just been re-tarred. The slippery surface caused a lot of cars to spin out at this certain corner… hmm scaryyy. Eug offered both Tee and I a ride on his RX-7 FD around the track, which I was hesitant to take up. Normally I’d trust Eug’s driving, no issue there. But the thing was, Eug himself had spun out once, and his friend Chu Beng had his own RX-7 FD run out of the track and onto the sandy gravel, which resulted in a flat tyre as well. Yikes! Can’t blame the drivers though - the track was just too new and couldn’t provide enough grip. Tsk.

As it turned out, the rain started to pour at noon, so the gang decided to call it a day and focused on getting lunch instead. So we headed back to Subang… I followed Eug’s car and it was funny to see him driving at 90km/h MAX, due to the rain. We saw Kancils easily passing us by. LoL :D If he drove any faster though, we’d probably end up doing 180’s on the road already. On the way, we talked about the usual topics - cars, relationships, cars AND relationships together… Heh, talk about variety. :P Then we ran into a bit of a worry coz Eug’s car’s oil pressure gauge stopped working during the journey.

Upon reaching Burger King at Taipan, Eug asked all round the table for opinions on his oil pressure problem. Apparently it could be an indication towards a bigger issue related to the engine - panicness! After sitting and talking for about 2 hours, it was time to go home. Or so we thought. But then more stuff happened, haha. Eric found that his RX-7 FD’s battery had died out and it was topped up by a separate problem of his car’s bonnet not being able to open. And oh, did I mention it was still pouring at the time? -_-”

Well they managed to pop open the hood in the end, but jump-starting the battery didn’t work so Eric had to hitch a ride back home to get the battery from his other car to replace into the RX-7. And in the midst of it all, Eug announced that his oil pressure gauge was working again - it probably didn’t work before that coz of the cool weather temperature. Geez. In Eug’s amused words: “There’s always drama with rotary engines.” Which was so true I think, coz the entire day there’d been problems with only the RX-7’s. LoL

So yeahh, I had a blast anyway. Track Day was certainly a new experience for me, and I’ll probably be going again for the next one in September. :) Click below for a couple of pictures I managed to snap in between the track sessions… Just for fun though since I didn’t have a proper camera with me and had to rely on my phone. :P

Track Day!
