“see, i told you so”

… So I guess fate has a really mean sense of humor =/

P.S. The internship news is out, and I’ll be attached to RHB Investment Bank which is located right smack in the heart of KL, at Jalan Tun Razak.

Omg hello daily traffic jam!

Still, I’m super glad I got into an investment bank coz I really didn’t want to be placed into any other banking stream anyway. :D

if you don’t know me by now
Posted on Thu, June 19th, 2008 @ 2:46 am

10:08PM

Who knew that an hour would pass and I would then be left with burning eyes and angry sighs?

“You know I would do something if I could.”
“If I didn’t care about your feelings, I wouldn’t even bother to explain this much.”
“Can you please not be mad?”
“I’ll call you later, okay?”
“Iso… Iso… Iso…”

I stepped out of the car without so much as a backwards glance.

“Iso…”

Not even to say goodbye.

“Iso…”

But I know the night is going to replay itself like a broken film reel, and your voice is going to haunt me all the way into my slumber tonight.

… Maybe I shall just not sleep tonight?

This birthday wish goes out to a fashionista who can never get enough of shoes and bags; a bubbly girl who always tries to make time for anyone and everyone; and she deserves nothing less than a superstar celebration today!

Happy happy birthday, Sandy Low! :D

When are we meeting up, Sandy?! Hehe. :P

the great escape
Posted on Fri, June 6th, 2008 @ 12:53 am

Today, SCG and I sneaked out of class at 3PM and decided to go home.

But once we got to the lobby of the building, we were greeted by rain. Lots of it, falling down ever so discouragingly like drapes of heavy curtains.

“Gotta love Malaysian weather,” I groaned and stared outside with helplessness. Two main roads separated us from the carpark, and it would be crazy to run without a single umbrella between us.

After thinking for a few seconds, SCG said, “Okay, I’m gonna get an umbrella, get to the car, and drive it round to this place. You just stay here.”

And so he did, and so I stayed. Today, SCG was almost a hero.

I say ‘almost’, because upon returning the umbrella that was borrowed from a kind stranger loitering at the building’s front entrance, I stepped into the car and experienced probably about one or ten mini heart attacks - all due to SCG’s driving. And it was with my car too. Sighy. That totally cancelled out his earlier hints of hero-ness.

Already it was pouring down so hard that we could barely see beyond the windscreen. And the roads were all inches of water everywhere. I know SCG thinks my driving is scary, but at least I know not to speed in rainy conditions, heh. -_-” After noticing that my eyes were the size of large saucers and unblinking, and my hands clutched tight at the safety belt - he laughed and toned down his mad driving antics.

It’s really ironic to think that the petrol price has decided to hike up, just when I’ll (most likely) stop carpooling in a matter of days.. Six months have gone by just like that, who woulda thunk? Once exams are over next Tuesday, we’d all be saying goodbye to the Darul Takaful building on Jalan Sultan Sulaiman. Everyone will be off on their own 6-month industrial training adventure, at whichever financial institution they decide to send us to.

It’s a little daunting and scary, but a change can be good. And so I’ll wistfully breathe in these next few days, silently having little countdowns here and there - last meal at the 1st floor cafe, last gossiping session with the girls, last visit to the 10th floor washroom (coz honestly it’s super clean and less crowded than the 1st floor ones), last puff of cigarette at the lobby with my nicotine buddies (Bryan, Justin, SCG)… Gosh, there’s so much that I’m actually gonna miss about this place. :)

And yet through it all, I know I’m just waiting to breathe out… to exhale… and move on to new and exciting things. :D

morning falls like rain into the city life
Posted on Tue, June 3rd, 2008 @ 1:09 am

First of all, it was someone’s birthday yesterday…

Happy 25th Birthday to Wayne!
Let’s hope this year you’ll really be a changed man ya? No more “9394” (read that in Cantonese :P).. heh heh ;)

Exams are next week and I’ve barely touched my notes. I’m feeling so fearless, it’s scaring me! -_-” I’m grounding myself at home this entire week. Wish me luck. *grits teeth*

Oh, you know what happened last Saturday? I was walking around Sunway Pyramid after an afternoon of singing at Red Box, and I had just finished typing a reply to HanRen’s text message (he asked if there were any plans for the night)… and then next thing I know, I’d bumped into HanRen right there at Pyramid! LoL He was enjoying happy hour with his housemate Edwin at the Rainforest Bistro. I guess Subang and Sunway are pretty small after all.. ;)

We ended up partying at Velvet Underground later that night with a bunch of other people. Fun fun, and I saw so many familiar faces including an ex-colleague, Zinee, who was invited by Edwin to join us without realizing that her and I knew each other. That was an amusing moment. :D

And if anyone was wondering - I’m doing a whole lot better now, after the less than happy post I wrote below. I suppose you always need to walk through the rain before the sky clears and you’re greeted with a rainbow..

Somewhere somehow, something’s changed.. The tension and weirdness have melted away, and there is this unspoken agreement that the chapter has finally closed and we can get back to being good friends. As a matter of fact, this friend of mine came by and stole a muffin from me today..! I’m not quite sure how to explain why this is actually a good thing… it just is :)
