absolute gravityPosted on Fri, October 31st, 2008 @ 11:48 am
This week’s been slow and way too rapid at the same time. I don’t seem to get enough rest, and my fulltime devotion (okie maybe like 80%) needs to go towards work until next Monday which is the deadline for this HUGE assignment I’ve been handed. *stress*
Constructing a portfolio, tracking error, rolling return, market outlook, asset allocation, equity, money market, fixed income, REITs, FOREX, dividend yield, yield to maturity, overweight, neutral… Is the room spinning, or is it just me? Heh heh.
I’m owing lotsa updates and pictures I know. Well since I’m already procrastinating anyway, I shall continue to do so until some free time finds me LoL
I’ll leave you with a strip of my favoritest comic in the whole wide world… ZITS :D Always a mood lifter!
[EDIT] Window (online) shopping can be evil. Taking a quick break from work, I was just browsing through some online shopping websites when I came across this handbag blogshop. Omg the temptation! I’ve done enough shopping for this week (a lovely pair of strappy heels from Nose, funky black jumper from Extreme, and yummy Hydro Balance hair mask that smells like mango!). Also I just realized I’ve gone on trips 3 out of 4 weekends this month. As you can guess, my cash situation is not looking good. Yeahh.
And still. Somehow Coach has a way of making me think that it’s okay to splurge RM499 on a dainty little wristlet.
Or RM650 on a handbag.
Or even RM850 on a tote.
Tsk tsk. Like I said - evil. *closes window hastily*

superfluous needsPosted on Fri, October 24th, 2008 @ 12:09 pm
So I got my hair cut at the usual place last night. Too bad it was Michael’s off day so I had to make do with a new guy. His name was Jay or something?
Anyway he’s so strict okie. Like he wouldn’t let me get a short and straight fringe (bangs) coz he said it wouldn’t look nice and it’d make me look about, oh, 12 years old. LoL So I was still stuck with the side parting fringe, and even then he refused to cut it too short, hence my hair trim is really minimal and you can barely see the difference before and after. *head hangs low in disappointment*
But I do appreciate his honesty :P And he’s got an ear piercing and a tattoo on his hand… nice! The usual small talk ensued as he did the snipping - work, clubbing, places to hang out, Facebook, yada yada. It makes me wonder, is that all people our age ever talk about nowadays? Probably so. *slaps forehead*
This morning I looked at myself in the mirror, and I got the itch to just chop off the remains of my hair. Make it short!!
Well see, my initial plan was to keep growing my hair long and eventually get some loose waves done. Also I know people would tell me that I look better with long hair… But somehow I think having short hair is more fun haha. Your head feels lighter and you can swish your hair left and right and feel it brushing against the sides of your face without getting messy and tangled up. How awesome is that rite? :D
I’m still thinking. Coz it took me about a year (with some trimming done in between) for my hair to get to its previous length. If I do cut my hair short, I’d have to wait another year for it to grow long again. Oh the dilemma.. heh heh.
Right. I can’t believe I wrote that many paragraphs just talking about hair alone. LoL Moving on to something else I’m considering to get:
Either
a) a new handphone (Nokia? Or should I give Sony Ericsson a second try?)
b) a new camera (to replace my broken Canon A80… Canon and Panasonic came highly recommended, and I wanna look into Fuji as well. YES FUJI, REALLY :D)
c) a new watch (coz my current Guess watch’s strap is fraying like crazy, can’t stand it)
Please don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I have that much spare cash to spend. Not at all. But at least it’ll give me motivation to earn extra money ;)

selamat hari jadiPosted on Fri, October 24th, 2008 @ 11:28 am
Today is the 24th, therefore…
Happy 24th Birthday to my girl Wei Hoong!
And Happy 25th Birthday to our boy Brian Lim!
*dumps a whole sack of confetti on them* :D
(I hope I got their birth dates right. I’m totally relying on memory here since I can’t check Facebook nor Friendster from the office here :X Teehee.)
I must say though, October 23rd is like the most happening date for birthdays. I checked my email yesterday and saw so many notifications from Friendster. So here’s a collective birthday shoutout to the October 23rd babies:
- Newbie aka Mun Kiat aka DVD
- The twins How Lun and How Kuang
- Chee Seong
- Clement
Many happy returns for the day! :)

and you’ll see me waiting for you on the corner of the streetPosted on Wed, October 22nd, 2008 @ 12:39 pm
A note to my dear best friend: He’s a complete bastard and I hope you know you deserve so much better, babe! <3
People always say, everything happens for a reason. While this may be true, sometimes we also need to accept things without knowing the reason, don’t we? And I have a problem with that - not knowing why.
But questions don’t always bring you answers that you want to hear. So then is it wise to keep your lips sealed and pretend that everything is all right?
We’re nearing the end of October already. So much has taken place, some that made me burst into unexpected giggles. Others painted tiny little frowns on my face and tugged at my heartstrings like heavyweights.
I think I might go to church one of these days, and have a heart-to-heart with God. So random. Well it’s been a while, but I’m sure Him and I will have a good time catching up :)

reality escapes herPosted on Tue, October 21st, 2008 @ 10:23 am
Thank you for all the “welcome back” wishes… It’s good to be back! :)
I’ve been plagued by bad dreams for 2 days in a row. The kind with ghosts and demonic possessions… wtf. And I usually hardly ever get nightmares -_-”
Could it be caused by the fact that I watched the movie Solstice on tv last weekend? It could barely qualify as a horror flick though, there were like only one or two mild shocks throughout the movie :P
Just realized that I have so much to do! I need more hours in a day… 24 just doesn’t seem enough right now, heh.

i’ve got my heart set on anywhere but herePosted on Thu, October 16th, 2008 @ 2:39 am
I’m so ready to go!
But shhh, let’s keep it quiet ;)
Since I haven’t gotten around to putting up the pictures from PD, Melaka, Gabai waterfall, etc etc etc, and I probably won’t be able to do so until next week, i guess I’ll post something for the time being… as a teaser if you will. (And also so that all you readers won’t get bored by the lack of visuals here :P)

Of course, it had to be pictures of the people who taught me the art of camwhoring: Kristen, me, Chris, Maverick

I like this! Special thanks to Coach for sponsoring the backdrop.. haha right!

Rejected Coach models :D

Kristen and I at Kiehl’s :)

Our retro plastic sunnies

The latest trend in wearing sunglasses… don’t try this at home kids :P
Oh oh oh. Ian sent me this really old picture of some of us at Asia Cafe - this must date back to 2, 3 years ago? Haha good memories! Lookie:

Raymond, Becky, Maxine… and 2 sesat people at the back.. hmm wonder who they are? *tilts head* LoL
All rite that’s it for laughable photos tonight. Feeling super shy already. Ta!

half the time the world is ending, truth is i’m done pretendingPosted on Mon, October 13th, 2008 @ 11:47 am
So The House Bunny was a really enjoyable movie for me. I didn’t check my watch for the time like how I’d been doing for the past two or three movies I’d seen recently, itching for the show to come to an end :P
I’d say The House Bunny is a chick flick with a heart - loaded with pink Juicy Couture clothes, staggering platform shoes, sisterhood and just wanting that sense of belonging. Aww. Also, the casting was pretty interesting. We have Anna Faris (the girl from Scary Movies), Katherin McPhee (runner-up for American Idol who lost to Taylor Hicks), Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore), Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks’ son) and Tyson Ritter (from the band The All-American Rejects).
If you like your movies fluffy and sweet, do catch this one. It’s just so nice…. so nice! (You’ll have to watch the movie to get it :D)
My weekend was pretty crazy. On Friday 9pm I was at a birthday dinner for Shaun with Jacklyn and Nicholas somewhere in Kota Damansara. 12am I was at Cheras’s Old Town White Coffee outlet. 3am came along and I was playing Wii at Chris’s place with Maverick and Brian.. LoL I sucked at the golf game, but bowling was easy.
Somehow I managed to sit through a 9am-5pm public speaking class on Saturday, then it was off to Sungai Wang and Pavilion. Kristen, Mave, Chris and I got ourselves some retro plastic sunglasses and walked around looking like (cool) retards. Ahahah. And when we went over to Station One for drinks, the waiters seemed to avoid coming over to our table for orders. So funny.
Must not forget this. To William Lee, Tye Yong Chia and Garick Goh - thanks for the drunk dialling call on Saturday night… eesh! *rolls eyes* They said they were at Murni and wanted to go clubbing at Scarlet. Well the next day I found out they were all actually in Melaka that night!! Remind me not to bother picking up their calls from now on eh. Pfft.
Sunday was less crammed with activities. I snoozed at home for 3 hours before meeting up with Ming Seong who’s back in KL for good after spending like 3 years plus in Miri and the offshore. Welcome back dude! We chit chatted over dinner about the dating culture of people nowadays, and about picking up guys/girls at the club, and of how girls in Eastern Malaysia differed from those of us in the Peninsular. And after that we saw The House Bunny. Good stuff.
Still waiting for work to start here. *taps fingers and shakes leg* Oh, Singapore’s the first Asian country to fall into recession… gosh. No worries though, SCG and I have a back up plan in case our banking careers don’t work out - we’ll just start a nasi lemak business :D We’ve even calculated the costs and projected earnings. Hahaha. Everyone’s invited to join ;)
