Hohoho… I’m still in Hong Kong and this is an automated post just to say - Merry Christmas, ya’ll! :D
Yes, this is the X’mas display outside of Pavilion - pretty reindeers and pretty Coach store in the background :)
Not forgetting, Happy 26th Birthday to Maverick! Woohoo we’re all (hopefully) partying it up in Hong Kong ;)
This year I’m glad to be able to take in all the wonderful things that come with Christmas - singing along to carols on the radio, giggling at the Christmas cards received (especially the cute Flash animated ones via email), feasting my eyes on the festive decorations in shopping malls, buying gifts, and watching A Christmas Carol in 3D. Whee.
You know, it hasn’t been this way for a couple of Christmases before this. It’s like I was always either too wrapped up with work during December, or too busy adjusting to changes and uncertainties that came my way at the time, or yeahh, work. Heh.
So hey, please do have a Merry Christmas, just like the one I’m experiencing right now :)
And as per the annual tradition - hello where’s my snow?! *looks up*
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Owl City might just be my newfound obsession. Of course you’ve all heard of the hit, Fireflies. A touch of whimsy and a huge dose of magic, yes? This song is no less amazing - Vanilla Twilight :)
the stars lean down to kiss you
and i lie awake and miss you
pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere
cause i’ll doze off safe and soundly
but i’ll miss your arms around me
i’d send a postcard to you dear
cause i wish you were here.
i’ll watch the night turn light blue
but it’s not the same without you
because it takes two to whisper quietly
the silence isn’t so bad
’til i look at my hands and feel sad
cause the spaces between my fingers are right where yours fit perfectly.
i’ll find repose in new ways
though i haven’t slept in two days
cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone.
but drenched in vanilla twilight
i’ll sit on the front porch all night
waist deep in thought because when i think of you
i don’t feel so alone… i don’t feel so alone… i don’t feel so alone
as many times as i blink i’ll think of you tonight
i’ll think of you tonight.
when violet eyes get brighter
and heavy wings grow lighter
i’ll taste the sky and feel alive again
and i’ll forget the world that i knew
but i swear i won’t forget you
oh if my voice could reach back to the past
i’d whisper in your ear
oh darling i wish you were here.
FYI: Owl City is an American synthpop musical project by a man named Adam Young. Adam started out making music in his parents’ basement in Owatonna, Minnesota, which he claims is a result of his insomnia.
Hence the name Owl City, I presume.. Please get more insomnia episodes then, Adam! ♥
Sometimes, just when you think a story has reached its final chapter and you turn the next page expecting to see the words “THE END”, a new chapter greets you instead.
It takes you by surprise, like an unlisted hidden track in a CD; an extra feature in the DVD you bought; an additional scene to the movie after the credits. You know what I mean ;)
And so this was how it unfolded.
It was the weekend, and a phone call interrupted my blissful Saturday morning’s sleep.
It was probably the last name I’d ever think of to show up ony the phone screen. But yes, it was a familiar voice although not so much of a familiar face anymore.
I suppose the motivation for him to make the call was purely work-related, but we ended up doing some catching up as well. And you wouldn’t believe the coincidences, they’re insane.
Fact #1, his company is servicing my company. What are the odds eh! He’s been to my office building oodles of times, but usually at a different tower from where I work.
Fact #2, his office is located at a building that I used to frequent every day for six months. It was fun talking about the few good lunch places around there, and going “yeah yeah yeah, I always eat there!” :P
Fact #3, he’s staying in Cheras. Well some of you will know that I can be found in Cheras about half the time anyway ;) It’s unreal to discover that this friend of mine has a place just a mere 10-minute drive away from where Chris lives.
At this point, we were already going, “OMG stop stalking me!” I mean seriously, I never realized the Klang Valley could be this small.
To top it all off, today I tell him over MSN that I was at Ikea last night and had their yummylicious meatballs. And to that he replied: wahh…
i nearly wanna go yesterday
but not feeling well
so cancel plan
yuhh…wan to follow me like tat meh u
hahah
And now we’re yakking about how awesome Ikea’s meatballs are - though they’ve shrunk in size over the years - and getting ourselves totally hungry.
What a Friday this is. Happy state holiday to those lucky munchkins who have the day off today. Hrmphh :P
P.S. Happy birthday to Ivan “Budak Mengada” Fong! Whee!
Has it really been a year already, and you’re 26 now? :)
No one likes getting old, but if that’s what it takes to let new days unfold and fresh beautiful memories to blossom, then it’s not such a bad thing is it?
Happy birthday, Baby ♥ And have a fantastic celebration - I know you will, coz I’ll be there so of course it’s gonna be fun rite, heh heh :P
I never anticipated it to be this simple. Was that all it took, a decided shift in perception?
I honestly hope the good vibes stick around this time. We’ll see. As a popular theory goes, it takes 21 days for a person to change.
And for stubborn characters like myself, it probably requires two times the amount ;)

Moving along, as I’ve said on my Twitter (@izzobel, if you haven’t added me - and why haven’t you?! :P) - I’ve been getting quite caught up in Pushing Daisies. Can’t get enough of the vibrant technicolor hues and equally colorful characters, quirky shreds of humor and romance, yummy pies and murder cases to be solved every episode!
Why this TV series got canceled after two seasons, I’ll never be able to comprehend. Sigh. We need more good shows that:
a) are not a clone of CSI
b) do not feature humans and nudity
c) do not feature vampires and nudity
d) paint a gloomy picture of humans and the world we live in - give me some happy please!
Okay, maybe not all hope is lost just yet. I’m also currently finishing up a 2008 Taiwan series called You Are My Destiny aka Fated To Love You. I’m guessing they need a second title as, confusingly, there is another drama series from Korea entitled You Are My Destiny.
The Taiwan version is about a floormat type of girl who got pregnant through the weirdest way ever - and the guy got forced into taking responsibility. Of course they fell in love. Of course the guy had a gorgeous jealous girlfriend who had to wreck everything. Arghh.
Funnily enough, the plot really starts to pick up only after the girl had a miscarriage and moved to Shanghai to begin a new life! The show has more than one good-looking guy to drool over, an adorable Maltese dog to “aww” at, a hilarious feisty grandmother, and some very funny situations to giggle at. Trust me when I say I rarely ever watch such fluffy drama series, but this one’s pretty darn good.
And when I’m done with that, I’ve got the entire Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother in DVDs! Easily the best RM20 I spent during my Penang trip two weekends back. Woohoo :D
It’s an interesting concept of a father telling his kids the longwinded story between him and their mom… apparently the mother only shows up in Season 3. LoL Funny stuff, I likeee.

Extreme body heatiness.
Clogged up nose.
Dizzy spells.
Sore throat.
Cough.
And seriously, extreme body heatiness that doesn’t go away despite the many glasses of water and Chinese herbal tea consumed.
Of course this had to be noted down in the Sick Log files ;( *swallows antibiotics*
P.S. Need to make long overdue itinerary plans for Hong Kong trip, it’s coming in 3 more weeks!

Welcome to htotheizzo.com! This used to be 404.stanch.net until Ivan & Joanne decided to get me my very own domain as a birthday gift - thank you. :D If you were wondering, H To The Izzo is a nickname from some overly creative friends of mine, and it's derived from a Jay-Z song. At least it's a great tune. Cheers!
