can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting starsPosted on Tue, June 8th, 2010 @ 11:02 am
Taking a quick glance at my blog entries, I realize that there are plenty of things that should’ve been mentioned but never were.
My birthday this year, for example :) It was very low-key if you compare it with last year’s birthday bash that Chris came up with as a surprise, with the help from some of my dearest friends.
For 2010, I celebrated with my family over a nice dinner at Victoria Station. Then there was the lovely session with my high school girlfriends and some Japanese yummyness at Zen. Later on it was a night of deja vu when I met up with the rest of the high school crowd at Station One where they were waiting with a birthday cake - two years ago JKL arranged for a birthday gathering for me at the very same place, and I guess he wants to turn it into a tradition ahahah. It’s not the most glamorous spot, but it holds warm memories for me just because of the people who were there with me on the night I turned 24, and now 26 :D
Not to forget, a wonderful birthday treat at Alexis Ampang from the boyfriend, who also got me a Canon Ixus 130 - my very first digicam in over four years y’all, can you imagine the excitement! :P I loved all the little trinkets I received from friends and my sisters too, I suppose they really know just how fascinated I am with accessories. Thank you for the necklaces, bracelet, hairband, etc! If I remember to be hardworking, I’ll put up some pictures sometime soon.
To update on something more recent - a funny thing happened yesterday at work. It was lunchtime and my boss and I were the only people left in the office. I wanted to head downstairs to the bank and was holding an envelope which contained the necessary documents. Before I stepped out, I went to inform my boss… but just as I was about to speak, her gaze zeroed in on the envelope in my hand, and then her eyes went wide.
It took me a split second to understand why - turnover rate has been quite scary in the company lately, and I guess my boss assumed the worst of what I was holding in the envelope - to which I quickly said, “Oh no! This is for the bank. I was going to tell you that I’m off to the bank right now, to settle some stuff.”
My boss visibly relaxed and responded with a laugh.
And I was glad I didn’t become the cause of a heart attack yesterday.. almost, but not quite ;) Teehee.
